Can confirm BNE dom is working fine; will check out Int later today.
Yep ... excellent Strength at the northern end of the Business lounge.

Note Int WP/Emerald lounge closed this afternoon "for maintenance" so slumming it in the J lounge.

Oh no !!! you would have to be in the same lounge as the rest of us low life's ;)
I must admit i had no idea how i managed travel before i had lounge access, slumming it in an airport full of 'tourists' is no fun at all.

Thanks, but you forgot the 1000's of Jetstar flights that QFF's are forced to fly in to LST on now ;)

I should have been clearer - QF Club LST does have Telstra Wireless - just was wondering if they had made it free also in the regional lounges...?

I'll find out next week myself I guess when I head down there again.

Just visited QF Club LST - free wireless - fantastic! Looks like QF have even done their regional club lounges!

No problems in AKL Int. F/J and Dom. QP lounges either (need to log in, username/password are published in work ares).

I was there Sunday afternoon, and the webpage did redirect me, but to the standard "Pay us money" page.

Maybe they fixed it...

Syd domestic QP this morning had the free Wifi

Mate i'm a bit annoyed.

After the fantastic free wireless session I had in Mel QP a few weeks back, getting 300-500kb/s download on my BitTorrent client, I'm now sitting here in the BNE QP getting a measely 12-15kb/s download. It may be because the place is pretty full and a lot of people are downloading, but, cmon Qantas, I expect more from a free service!! :)
Hopefully it gets better in the next hour or so when the place (hopefully) clears up a bit.

Oh - and not to mention - web access is almost at dial-up pace. I haven't experienced this in years :p

Cheers,

Josh

BNE's QP has 802.11b (11mbs) access points for some reason, and I suspcect a 1.5Mbs pipe feeding it, so it has always been a shocker in comparison to other locations, its a long way from the exchange which does not help. The DFO does not use any telstra infrastrucutre so there has been no reason to put an exchange any closer, and in fact most business in the airport environment do not use Telstra for their access as a result, at least when it comes to POTS.

I could net even get connected in BNE for a while when the lounge was busy. Must have been 60+ people using the laptops, phones, PDAs etc and the although good signal strength was available, it took many attempts overr about 10 mins to actually get a connection - and then of course it was very slow.

Actually, while in the SYD T3 QP the other afternoon, EVERY work space in the business center was occupied.

Now the Telstra wifi service is complimentary I have a feeling that usage levels will make a leap by at least an order of magnitude.

In SYD T2 this morning and had to pay for access. :( Only time I've encountered any problems since it has been free, I used it in both MEL & CBR yesterday no problems. DOn't think I'll have any luck in Dubbo tomorrow, though ..:D

I dont recall a QP in Dubbo ;) Have they fixed the airport yet? Last time I was through there it was mid major remodelling and there wasnt even a cafe

I used to do transfers in Dubbo between SYD and BWQ in the 70's. They had a cafe then.....

There used to be a cafe (I have had many a cold VB there whilst waiting to get the heck out there.

Dubbo was transformed last year, I think the must have the aim of being the premier inland NSW airport (well it is a hub of sorts!!). There's a decent cafe, separate arrivals & departure areas, a luggage belt, desk area with power points , I even noticed a rack of books for sale. No QP course!
