Free Virgin flights - Eligible Sectors

Hi all, Ive got two questions.
Can the complimentary flight be with an airline other than VA?
I see in the fine print that the flight is up to the value of approx $1100. Is it possible for you to pay more on top of that?

No, the flight must be with VA.

As for value, it actually doesn't rate a mention. The only questions involved are origin, destination and availability.

Are you looking to fly somewhere not listed on the destination list or are you looking to get around availability constraints?

Nothing specific. I'm just researching AMEX cards and trying to work out which is best for me.

They used to be with Qantas before they downgraded

Those cards that only provide for domestic free flights are less useful in respect to this thread topic.
