From what I remember, the Spiderman 3 preview was show printout, surrender mobile phone, get wanded by security, then go in. :)

Drats, so they won't allow me in with my tripod and videocamera? :D

Apologies for being OT, but does anyone know why this film is titled "Die Hard 4.0"? :-|

I know this is #4 in the series, but why name it "4.0"? It kind of implies that there will be a 4.1 or 4.2 release. Maybe after people watch it and express their disappointment they'll modify it and release an upgrade or patch to fix the bad bits?

Don't know why they bother with the worry about camera phones, already very good copies around

saw the movie in BKK 3 wks ago.

It seems to have lots of names ("Live free or Die Hard" is even stupider). Probably a case of Hollywood trying to be clever with a software sounding name, even if it is so Windows 3.0.

The plot centers around cyber-terrorism this time...hence the computer/software reference in the title. :)

I actually really enjoyed it tonight. Highly unbelievable in parts, but it wouldn't be a Die Hard if it wasn't. Worth seeing for big dose of action. :)

Cheers,
- Febs.

I went along tonight and also enjoyed it, although I am not sure I would have gone if I had to pay for it! Just need to swicth the brain off while watching and not think about things to much.

In an aisle seat :) about halfway up.

Got there maybe 10 minutes early - when the line had about 8-10 people in it!

How about yourself?

A true AFF-er, selecting an aisle seat. But what happened to the preference for a forward aisle seat? Or were you in an exit row ;)

I thought the movie was great- it was a bit sad when the hot bad girl got an SUV rammed up her backside though! ;)

I'd never been to one of these before but I was a bit disappointed in the turn-out. For tickets that go so fast, BNE would have been barely a third full.

Great movie though!!! :p

I was with a group of 4 about 6 from the front. You must have been standing behind us, My wife is a centre cetre with a row slightly rear of centre.

Where you wearing the tie and golfing hat?

Thats the problem with free things, people have to have them because they are free, but ultimately when it comes to it they dont go because something more important comes up, ot the wether or something - but hey the tickets cost us nothing, stiff to those who would have come.

Granted there would be those who would like to have cancelled but there is no option for that with Qantas, but the people could have tried a little harder aka Serfty.

BTW Perth was probably two thirds to 3 quarters full, plenty of forward isle seats available.

I think one of the issues with the turnout for this movie was that tickets were given out about 2 months ago with no reminder email.

People forget!

Movie overall ok. Nothing great, but a lot better than I thought it would be. Didn't see any AFF regular's I know at the BNE screening, although littl_flier was there somewhere!

Mal I have never recieved reminders when invited to weddings and have usually have had to rsvp a month in advance, but still manage to remember to attend.

People book music tickets etc many months to a year in advance and get no reminders to attend. Likewise QF dont send email reminders of my upcoming flights. If these movie tickets had been paid for, there would have been near 100% attendance.

Its the whole getting it for free, then ho hum later. Granted I accept the minority will have family emergency etc that come up at the last minute, but its shame the rest of them take tickets then dont lob, but deny others who would have gone.

I think people like Serfty who offered theirs up on this board need to be congratulated, I can imagine the uproar if Qantas go through all the tickets redeemed for the movies and offeset them against those who registered, then denied those who didn't attend from accessing the next 1 or 2 free movie offers. I bet the offers would remain open longer and the cinemas will be fuller, as people are less likely to grab them just because they are free but take time and ensure they want to go and can actually go.

Here endith the sermon.

Mal, I was sitting in a middle seat ;) about halfway back. I was happy not to receive my forward aisle preference today. ;) I was wearing a blue-grey jumper, had my work backpack and was with a guy with Red hair and his very short GF. Hope this helps! :p And where were you? I was also on the lookout for NM but I have no idea what to look for. Can't wait for Hobart when I finally get to meet everyone, although I don't think NM is up for that?

I must say, this is a gross generalisation but there were quite a few people that fit the IT and Accountant moulds. :D

Reggie, maybe Qantas should overbook these and offer upgrades if there aren't any seats left. ;)

I'm off to the BNE "I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry" screening next week. Any other AFF members going?
