I'm getting this message:

"Invalid identification. Please try again or use another e-mail address."

Any clues as to why? I'm currently Gold. Is it only for new sign-ups?

New sign ups only by the looks of it.
Only worked for me with an email
address I hadn't used previously.

Good find if you dont have any status
or worthwhile points.

I've just done the same thing to test it. Although this new account is not showing any status at all, let alone Platinum. Yours?

wouldn't work for me with existing email address/account and just signed up with a different email address and shows nobody tier :(

Mine is all good, saved a screenshot of the platinum status & member no.

Just created a new account, and no good:

That's what I got on my new account too

also, if you write to a-club, they merge your new platinum account with your existing one. I just did and they did :)

Worked for me, thanks for the link. :p

They just responded and said that as the link is being used fraudulently by so many people they won't merge my account, instead they will purge it. Thanks for nothing A-Club:!:

Ouch!!!
Since just about everyone I know had a A-club account and I occasionally stay at Pullman/Sofitel, I also registered via the link earlier and it appears to have worked .
Hope you get your points back !

Just got the platinum welcome email, shows as platinum online as well, so not sure what's going on there. Unlucky random purges perhaps? Seems a bit harsh

If you're an HSBC Premier Credit Card holder you can ask them to upgrade you to platinum.
