If an advertiser wrote that title, they'd be hauled over the coals by the ACCC.

They must be having trouble selling these things, as they have an xbox promotion as well
Windows Phone Offer

I have no idea on the cost of the phone (I suspect it is >AUD400 or to sign up for a 24 month contract) and most likely the mystery flight would be on JQ or TT.

Interesting condition that travel must include a Saturday night.

Are flights cheaper on Saturday, why hasn’t anyone told me this before!?! :p

From the terms it wouldn’t matter who you’re flying:

Frequent Flyer and loyalty reward points are not applicable to these flights.

But I see there are strict conditions attached, minimum of 2 weeks between flights (so an expensive holiday), maximum one month, one flight has to be on Saturday, doesn’t count public holiday periods. Maximum cost will be $600 and those that win flights over $250 will have their names printed in The Australian too.

All up, it’s an awful competition.

You never asked! ;) At a guess I would say that Tuesday and Wednesday are the cheapest then closely followed by Saturday. I believe Saturday has the least scheduled flights of any other day and you will not find many elite frequent flyers travelling that day.

But Sam it does matter who we're flying! ;)

Only because QF removed anytime access ;)
Lounge access is important but is no longer my only factor when booking flights.

Recently spent ~5 hours in SIN T3 without any lounge access. It was not that bad and I had a really relaxing time. I went upstairs to Cheers and bought 3 large cans of Tiger for SGD11.25 (SGD2.95 if you want small can) and then bought a Whopper meal at Hungry Jack's for ~SGD7.95 so all up less than SGD20. Sat down in the lounge chairs people watching.

Changi is one of the few ports in the world where spening several hours in the terminal can be very pain free.

I can happily spend some time at Syd T2 sitting around Gates 58-59 watching all the action. Guess if I was doing it on a very regular basis it would be different:)

Changi is not a place where gate watching is the go; the actual terminal has quite a few different thing available to do.

What serfty said. Changi is a great airport to spend time in. Swimming pools, day-rooms for naps, massage, internet, shopping, dining, phone charging points... in a pleasant environment.

Spending time in T2 is not so pleasant IMHO. In fact, there's no AU airport I would be happy to be stranded in (without a lounge; even then that's just MEL or SYD F Lounges or perhaps the MEL J Domestic Lounge)

I agree although that bar at the beginning of the DJ gates is OK and then sitting down around gate 40 looking out at the runway is nice.

I know it is not for everyone but sometimes I just want to relax before a flight. In my opinion lounges are sometimes very stuffy and I would rather relax people watching and having a beer in the terminals. Some of the better airports to do this are SIN, BKK, HKG, SYD, ATH, ORD, MIA, LAX, DFW.

Errrrrrrrr :-|
