My understanding is that there is a huge number of extra destinations available under the DJ scheme when compared to the QF options.

From MEL with QF I could go to ADL, CBR, SYD or BNE. With DJ I can go to these plus a whole bunch more incl DRW.

I wonder if SYD-ADL routed via MEL will be ticketed. 4 x QF sectors and hopefully with the SCs and QFF points. Fares are not that diff...$252 v. $215 ow, looking at Sat, Sep 25.

I don't think so as they always were on the cheapest classes. They may let you pay the difference though.

Got it. I may give it a shot though with Amex.

This is the link to free flights...most likely seen by most of you already. I saw this and the hotel list for the first time tonight. A flight with accommodation for a night would have been a good promotion and value for the Amex fee (or, at least the charge card fee).;)

Can't understand it though there may be some logic to it...in the matrix, Darwin to Sydney and also Perth to Sydney but not in the other direction. :?:

When this was first introduced Sydney (& Melbourne) to Perth was an option but maybe it was too expensive as it did not last foe long.

Wouldn't be any more expensive than doing it ex-PER .. it was more so that they could get away with it by not doing so citing that people on the east coast had a "much broader range" of destinations, and perhaps they were destinations that were more likely to be visited:!:
