Fraud on Velocity Frequent Flyer accounts

BUT for it to happen again it seriously absurd, I've done probably the same amount of transfers with QFF and never any issues
I suspect 99% of members never do any transfers.
So suspect multiple transfers to different people would almost always raise red flags

I managed to get it sorted, it was the transfer from both in-laws to my account over the phone.

My account is not activated but need to sort out the in laws, I politely mentioned to VFF how frustrating this is even when you do the right thing

So early Monday morning I received notification that my Velocity points were used to buy flights from DPS-DOH which I had not requested.
Upon realising this, I called the call centre who confirmed by account had been fraudulently accessed. My account was suspended.
Virgin have sent me an email indicating that the points have been reinstated (already!), and then said:

"For your security, your current account remains suspended. In order to secure your details moving forward, Velocity would recommend creating an entirely new account with a new password and security question. For added safety we also recommend that you change the email address to a different email in conjunction with this new account.

You may create a new account online via the Velocity website. You will then need to phone our Membership Contact Centre with your new Velocity account number so that we may transfer your status and earnings to your new account. Alternatively, please call us on 131 875 and our Membership Contact Centre will be able to assist you with the full setup of your new account."

Has anyone experienced this? It just feels a little weird that they'd expect you to start a whole new account rather than changing the credentials on your current account? Obviously I'm happy to do so (and impressed with Velocity's speed at getting this all sorted) but I just wanted to see if anyone had any tips on how to go about this?
