I was there 10 years ago.. after the tour (which I enjoyed) we were whisked away to a private room with a special vintage Dom... and it was one of the best experiences.. the silk curtains, the view over the gardens, the silver bucket and tray.. (all secretly organised by MrUp)... I was hoping to repeat.. but maybe the surprise is the best thing.. I'm sure MrUp and I will find something spectacular to do this trip :)

I'm certainly not suggesting not to do the tour if available, but it is quite confected, so to that extent it's not unmissable.

Currently lazing in Chateau Troplong Mondot in the Saint-Emilion region and enjoying a nice local red.

The view is terrible... ;)

Yep TMA I agree it will be perfect - every day we spend in France will be perfect - I have no intention of having a negative thought any moment I am there - life is too short not to enjoy any adventure that we are privileged to experience!

Providing you stay out of the left-hand lane on the motorway, that attitude will get you far in France, Cruiser. :) Also remember to subtly inform them you are from Oz not UK or USA!

YES we were in a hurry to get here. Checked into Holiday Inn into our 1 bedroom suite - just recently renovated - very modern but neat as a pin. Nadia on front desk was just a star as we checked in - she said she is better than any concierge could be - whatever we want just ask and she will provide the solution.

Will post pics of our experiences as we go along/
