What a shame. I have an event at Etihad stadium a few days early, would have been handy!

Certainly seems that this new Four Points will open on time on 28 March 2017.
Their discounted room rate is extremely cheap at the moment.
For the night of 9 April a City View room advance purchase rate is $121.50, with double Starpoints.

Just booked in over the Easter Weekend for $115 to activate the SPG Gold status on my World Mastercard.

Wow $115 is a great rate. I guess that given they are opening only two weeks before Easter occupancy might be on the low side. But if rate is sometimes low it will be a great alternative for mattress runs!
I have checked regarding parking. Valet parking is $45 a day. Self parking is up to the guest, but the Harbour Town West car park seems to be the best choice. Looks like a 5 minute walk to the hotel, and a rate of $15 for 24 hours.

I have an upcoming 3 days trip to MEL and thinking abt doing a mini matress run to collect stays .

Four points dockland 1 day check out
Next day sheraton Mel and back to four points on 3rd days .

Will this get me 3 stays credit as the hotel in the same city .

Bear in mind there is not much to do around that part of Docklands. There is the shopping mall and the observation wheel, but little in the way of good eateries and bars etc. There's also a lot of development work, road works, building going on. I walked past it two weeks ago and wasn't overly impressed with the locale. YMMV.

Remember that's only for a yr - then you have to earn it! (At least for NZ that's how it works - I'll be jelly if you say otherwise for Oz)

Looking to do a mattress run here as well. But if anybody wants to use the actual stay, I'm happy to offer you a discount, especially if booked in the next few days before the SPG Asia Pacific sale ends. PM me for more details.

I'm sure it's the same - I just want it for a big upcoming trip anyway :)

Stayed last night. I thought the hotel was great, scored an upgrade to a Bay View One Bedroom which was really nice.

If you need to stay at that end of town, it's currently great value.

I did a mattress run, my first ever, to get my SPG/Marriot Gold using the Westpac Altitude Black world mastercard offer. I have to admit I didn't stay the night but I think it is a great hotel and I hope the brand is rolled out to more places.
