Nope, looks open to all to me (no need to enter USDM details at the buy/gift portal).

Only 5 days long so new accounts (i.e. those that don't yet exist) can't take advantage of this. Rather shrewd of USDM!

Does USDM have a yearly limit? ie if I got 50K + 50K in the recent promotion will this one still work?

Yes asg29e but only once per account that has been open 12 days for the bonus.

This post-merger offer is a surprise...what's US Airways up to? They'll certainly be cash-rich. And the credit card companies will be getting their cut in commissions.

Not surprised at all - last week information was released that indicates it will likely be into 2015 before DM is absorbed be AAdvantage.

(From April 1 *A specific access to awards disappears and *O becomes the base.)

[WILD SPECULATION]
DM management are trying to increase their "cash" reserve to either help their payout bonus when made redundant or there's some sort of cross merger accounting process where componets of the DM "entity" benefit from greater reserve.

Anyhoo, I'm skipping this - hoping for another "Share" promotion which normally have a better miles/$ ratio.

I might have to take advantage of this one. I missed out on the targeted offer earlier this month as I had not bought any miles to trigger it at the time.

The earlier share promo was not targeted, and two in one year is very rare !

Yup, me too. At A$0.021/mile it's too much considering the stockpile I'm already sitting on.

Under $800 all up in J with QF to Singapore looks pretty good to me!

That is a little too long for me to wait, as I fly AA most of the time, I would rather spend the $US 1850 towards a real airfare, with status bonus and the routes and times I can fly, likely I would earn 60 to 70k AA miles for the same cost and also collect 30 to 35k qualifying miles. And then there is the question of availability when all these USDM hit the AA system.
