Hi All,

Quick questions on flying to India on QF tickets.

1. Do I earn SC if it is QF ticketed but 9W operated flight (SIN - DEL or SIN - MUM)
2. While I think the answer is a no, do I get access to lounges if on a QF ticket, flying out of Del or Mum on 9W operated flight.

I am QF Gold.

Thanks for the help..

I did that a few years ago into DEL.

I think the answers are No and No.

1. Yes, if QF code on 9W metal you get 20SC in discount economy for SIN - BOM (Mumbai) and 25SC for SIN - DEL. More SCs for other fare buckets, so check the calculator on the Qantas website for detail.
2. No access if flying Y given 9W is not a Oneworld airline

The answer to Question 1 depends on the flight number you’ve booked.

Thanks everyone.

Depending on where you want to end up in India, another alternative is to book QF to Singapore only and then separately book on either Malaysia or Sri Lankan. Sometimes their J tickets are very good value and are an easy way to pick up a bunch of SCs. When I've been on the hunt for SCs in the past, I have flown Qantas to Hong Kong and then Malaysia Hong Kong to Mumbai - which has been surprisingly cheap, and nets 320 SCs return on the HKG > BOM return.

Agreed, i used to fly UL via Colombo to Chennai and Bangalore for work. Faster option than 9W and status credits to boot.

Yep - that's what I do, as well! I start my regional trips in SIN or HKG, and then on a separate MH J ticket I connect through KUL to BLR. Often the J promo bucket (Z class) is less than Y Flex, and so the SCs come real cheap. You could do the same starting BKK, CGK or other regional cities on their network.

Cheers
Matt.
