Flying on American Eagle (Skywest under AA)

I've been enjoying the OT discussion 😄

Am I able to select seats in any way? Looks like we've been placed across the aisle from each other. Tried on Qantas Manage Booking but says I can't. Will a call to AA prove fruitful?

If you call qantas ask them for the AA record locator. Jump on to AA.com, US site, and select seats through manage booking.

So,e have also reported to be able to get the AA locator through manage booking on BA.com. Use the QF one on BA.

I could not figure out how to do it on AA's website, but I was able to do it through Royal Jordanian's manage booking page using Qantas booking number🤷
Why is this wonky looking website so much more versatile than any of the others?

All I can say is that having taken maybe 60-plus AA domestic flights, there’s not been any issue with seat selection on AA.

Re: AA website, I was probably doing something wrong. I tried using both the Qantas booking ref and the 081-x ticket number. No idea what the Record locator is and didn't want to hop on a phone to find out. I couldn't get into manage my booking, but RJ let me in just fine.

I was more referring to Qantas website, where I actually made the booking. Why can't I select seats on Qantas site? Also, people often refer others to rj.com to get ticket numbers as Qantas website does not provide this either.

Edit: I probably should have mentioned that I booked via Qantas website

I think QF and AA are on different systems? But AA and RJ and BA can talk to each other. Or… something like that!

When I make a booking, or if I have to call qantas for something else related to a booking with AA flights I just ask for the record locator at that time. Comes in handy for schedule changes cause you can just hop back on to move seats etc.

Does anyone know is we have access to Admirals Lounge on AA F tickets? Or any other Lounge in SEA
OWS/E and QP members can access AA lounges flying AA. But I don't believer there is an AA lounge. Several AS lounges at SEA (it's their main hub). OW status (with a non US carrier) will get you in flying on AA or AS.

Thanks. Looks like I could go to either AS or BA lounges on the AA F boarding pass if I'm reading the OW website correctly

Is that an International AA F BP or domestic F flight? Dom F by itself doesn’t get lounge access.

You can use the QF ref on many other oneworld airline websites because they use the same GDS. AA doesn't use the same system, so has a different ref and the QF reference won't work on the AA site.
You should be able to get the AA reference if you contact QF.
Once you get the AA number, you can use that to select seats on the AA website.

Flights within North America on AA or AS don't allow lounge access (with some exceptions for premium cabins on selected 3 class aircraft between LAX/SFO and JFK/MIA) unless you have a connection to a premium cabin on a long haul service or have non AA/AS oneworld status.
QF Platinum will get you access to the AS lounges in SEA, but AA Executive Platinum (both Oneworld Emerald) will not.

Without a non US based oneworld status, or a premium long haul connection, you can get into the AA lounges on domestic flights with a Qantas Club membership. Qantas Club members can access AS lounges (in LAX, SEA, PDX and ANC) when flying AS and connecting to/from a QF flight.
