I missed the cutoff unfortunately, but I was able to snag a sale fare on AF SYD-HKG(QF A380) HKG-CDG(AF 77W) CDG-FCO(AF A320) rtn in J for $5.5k. Sadly the fare expired on 15/03. Still, it appears not enough to even earn silver unfortunately :(

First words from the Cheese and Kisses was:
"Darling are we visiting Paris again?" with a very big smile on her face.
Oh well looks like Air France will see 2 more Paxs in J.

I will wave from row 3 :)

The only downside is the angle-flat config, but enough French bubbles and I'm sure that will not be a problem ;)

What like CX J Coffin Seats?
Hate those seats.
Really hate them.
Thanks, will check that out.

Actually CX J coffins are technically flat bed. I don't mind them when travelling alone - except for the back to the window thing.

The AF product is like halfway between QF skyslopes (mk1) and a flat bed seat. It angles at the top near the pillow area which some find ok, others uncomfortable. The rest of the seat is flat, and your feet go into a little box under the seat in front. 2m length I think.

They are apparently upgrading to the 'CX new business' style Cirrus seat over the coming year. I'm hoping this has been done by September when I next fly the AF 777.

Bon Voyage ;)

Need to add:
The only thing you can see sitting in a CX J Coffin, is the Paxs feet from the seat across the isle.

Will do more checking to ensure we get the new flat bed for our first AF J flight.
Only problem is if we pick up an AF metal from Syd, wifey will miss the QF FLounge.
Will need to work on that.

Already solved by the fact that AF don't have metal to SYD, my tip is to buy your tix from AF and take the QF or CX flight to SIN/HKG, then on to AF. Much cheaper than the QF alternative :)

P.S. the QF flights book on a QF code, therefore technically eligible for upgrade on the cheaper AF ticket...

Ah, thanks. Will check that upgrade option out. ;)

Have always found Bkk is the lowest cost way point when doing that.
Will check out the AF options as wifey is reading this as I type.

Yes Dear we will be using the shiny new FB Gold Card and yes you will be doing a QF Flounge run on the outbound leg.

Did anyone else get invited to the Tour de France event?

I received an email today asking for my postal address and partner's name so as that they can send a proper invitation.

Will have to check with the boss now to confirm that I can go.

As a fan of the TDF, I am lloking forward to it and no doubt my wife will enjoy the french bubbles which is bound to be served.

Well done meb, I hope you enjoy it. :)
I got the 'thanks, but over subscribed' email.

I got this match successfully ("invited gold since 21.02.2013")

Does anyone know how long FB gold status lasts? End of this calendar year? 12 months? End of 2014?

According awardwallet which tracks my account it is due to expire end of this year.

I have 17,000miles in the account which I can't work out what to do with. The best I think I can get is an entry to the Paris Half-Marathon.. of course that creates an issue of actually getting to Paris...
