I just got an email from them informing me of the above.

It's a bit sad because the ability to earn airline points (velocity points via FB points) from the actual booking itself is pretty unique. And of course you get the points from the flight on top of that. They used to have some amazing bonus offers - I believe up to 25x points per dollar spent.

Still, their interface, customer service hours and prices were never that good. I doubt I would have used them if it wasn't for the points.

It would be good if they linked in with a hotel program such as Marriott, in a similar fashion as they do with Velocity

A dark day for travellers

I have used Flybuys Travel multiple time for our overseas trips. Never had a problem with my bookings. When I had issues regarding cancellation, Flybuys Travel were always helpful and resolved the issue. I have only good things to say about them. As I am planning a lengthy holiday in Europe in 2027, I have been collecting as many points as possible to assist in my holiday budget. My initial checks on "Holidays by Hopper" are not good. Based on a head to head against Flybuys Travel for the same hotel, same room, same date, prices are dearer, inclusions are less and when you opt to use points, the hotels I hove looked at are about 1/3 dearer. Taking into account the 2 for 1 conversion to Velocity. I understand Flybuys move given its affiliation to Virgin was to be expected. I think Flybuys needs to lift their game for better value rewards and a bigger range.
