Okay, either someone has been stealing from our letter box, Australia Post have mixed up our mail again or all of us have missed out on this round of coupons. Unfortunately at the moment the first 2 options are much more likely than the third given previous incidents.

No mail-outs received by any of our family accounts. Perhaps not taking up any of the product specific offers last time around got us into the bad books!

Or they have worked out who we are!

Curious, very curious. The last time something like this happened was in the last quarter of a financial year and they only sent coupons to people who hardly ever shopped at Coles. Hang on a minute, we're currently in the last quarter of a financial year. Perhaps there's a pattern here. I'm too stressed to keep track of coupons at the moment. Our family members are still getting 4 week offers at reasonable targets so we'll stay happy with these.

Have seen only the one triple points docket a few weeks ago and none since. Not only that, the one docket didn't even credit :D

Still no triple points coupons but surprisingly the previous one eventually appeared about 2-3 weeks after the transaction - and more surprisingly it was only 10% what it should have been.

Same thing happened to me.
I have done not followed it up as I have been too busy and keep forgetting about it.

Hi gang, I have a 600 FB points for purchasing of Mirabella LED light bulbs, I can get some for as little as $3.25, I am looking to transfer as many points as possible over to velocity for the 20% bonus this month,
Can anyone give me a good reason not to buy $1000.+ worth of bulbs besides not needing them
Thanks

Clive

Can you actually find that much stock and are you sure there is no limit to your offer?

Well Dr Ralph, Can't see any mention of Limit, and I see a lot of offers lately are limited to one, I have made several purchases of around 12 globes each tim, and points been added.
The shelves are full atm. Until someone does what I'm thinking.
Just wondering what to do with that many globes?
Do I donate to a charity ? Sell them on gum tree?
What happens if you return a purchase after points have been transferred to velocity?
Suggestions welcome

...600 FB points for purchasing of Mirabella LED light bulbs...$3.25, ...over to velocity for the 20% bonus this month... a good reason not to buy $1000.+ worth ...besides not needing them
600 Flybuys Points, at half a cent per point, is $3 in FB$ so if cashing out you're behind.
2000 Flybuys = 870 velocity + 20% = 1044 velocity during promo.
Therefore 1.9 FB = 1 Velocity
or 1 Light Bulb = 600 FB = 313.2 points
So at $3.25 you're paying more than 1 cent per point for Velocity points.

My good reason not to do this is that 1 cent per point is above my purchasing threshold. If the light bulbs were under $1, we're in different territory.

I usually only pursue these deals if the value of FB earned exceed the cost of the product. This sometimes happens when you have an offer of so many bonus points for buying a product and then amazingly the product ends up being on special. It happens about once a year if I am lucky.

I like your analysis exceladdict but I believe each purchase of a light bulb at $3.25 earns 603.25 FB points as you omitted the base FB points earned. Of course if you only purchase 1 bulb on its own it is only 603 points. This doesn't change the maths to any significant degree as you are still over 1c per Velocity point.

However if you assigned the light bulbs a monetary value rather than giving them away then the maths will change. If you could sell them for $1 each then the cost per Velocity point drops to just over 0.7c (225c/314.9pts = 0.715c) and this may be attractive for some.

As they are light bulbs that can be used in anyone's house AND they actually save power but Coles is stopping stocking them (by the looks of it)...

Have you installed any to see whether you like them?

You could possibly try donating them to some charity at your cost and claim a tax deduction...

And as you are paying for them using the 5% Coles discount e-vouchers...

Could well add up.

Thanks RAM, is it possible to claim a tax deduction by donating to a charity?
If you are issued a receipt by a charity that has its status as a tax deductible recipient - then yes.

Need to do some quick calling around.
