Flybuys Targeted Bonus Promotions

I got an email from Coles for an Australia Day promotion.

I was hoping for some bonus points on a wide range of meat products. Unfortunately I didn't get what I wanted.

There was an offer for 10x points for some marinated lamb ribs and a 50x points for truss tomatoes.

I've never brought either of these products. I only buy field, gormet or roma tomatoes one or two at a time. The truss ones are too expensive and in a larger quantity than what I would use.

The 50x points works out at a 25% discount which is a fairly good return for a fresh fruit and vegetable promotion. It's very rare for a multi point offer to be worthwhile. I have no idea who else this offer was targeted to. It's possible it's only been sent to people who don't actually use this variety of tomatoes and won't be taken up very often.

Same same. Wont use.

nothing for us...yet. The story behind the growing etc of the truss tomatoes is amazing

[off topic] And nothing beats the fresh aroma of Truss tomatoes..... how any good tomato should smell like :)

Did a small shop today at the local Coles ($16 in fact) and received an offer at the bottom of the receipt for 1500 bonus Flybys points for a $80 spend. On top on this, I have a triple points offer on my largest shop this week , specifically emailed to me, alongside a triple points coupon for week one from the 12 week coupon pack mailed out a few days ago.
Happy days :)

OfferWhen you purchase from the McCain Takeaway Pizza range at Coles

Considering the pizza is $5, effectively $1.25.

Received my booklet today. In the last 12 weeks, coles standard points earn: 925. Bonus points: 23,392. It looks good on face value - but that's only $116 cashback on $900 of spend.

My booklet offers are now up to $130 so unfortunately I think the FB card will go in the drawer for a while. They're achievable with my grocery spend but I don't think $5 back for $130 is a reasonable loyalty reward.

Is the general consensus, to bring the card down, to stop spending on the card completely or to bring the average spend down by doing multiple, little shops?

That is a hard one to answer.

From what I have seen, it seems to drop quicker with no spend. It is like the system resets your spend totals more quicker then WW.

However, it might be prudent to do some $1 shops to see if you can get dockets deals that you can maybe stack with mail vouchers and online offers.

I've can't recall getting a docket deal with an under $10 spend. Maybe thats just me though

It's the timing of the purchase and whether your account has been selected on the docket deal.

I do a top up shop on Wednesday mornings. Sometimes I buy one banana for under $1. Docket deals frequently appear with these tiny transactions.

Just got this:

Spend $50 each week for 3 weeks for 5000 points
Week 1: Spend 50 for 500 points and unlock Week 2
Week 2: Spend $50 for 1500 points and unlock Week 3
Week 3: Spend $50 for 3000 points

The fine print says this though: (my bold)
Weekly BONUS POINTS will be applied on one transaction over the above specified spend, after all discounts and excluding all gift cards, iTunes cards and smoking/tobacco product purchases. Consecutive weekly BONUS POINT offers will only apply if you shop and spend $50 in the previous week/s specified.

So is it $50, or over $50? It seems to contradict.

I got that offer as well. Last time I just spent $50 and got the bonus points. give or take a couple of cents over isn't going to break the bank. I usually just add in something cheap just to be sure.

Week 2: Spend $50 for 1500 points and unlock Week 3

so you need to do the spend in week 1 to then get the week 2 spend reward to then get the week 3 award.

Slight variation on how woolies were doing it.

seem to be getting more love from flybuys than woolies at the moment. with the shopper docket bonus 1000 points added to 500 for a $50 shop on the weekend it looks like coles are the winners.

You should get the 500 points credited within 48 hours and this should activate the week 2 spend. Expected to rake in 9k with $150 spend over 3 weeks. Coles is been very generous these days.

I haven't shopped at Coles for at least 2 months =

Spend $70 each week for 3 weeks for 5000 points
Week 1: Spend $70 for 500 points and unlock Week 2
Week 2: Spend $70 for 1500 points and unlock Week 3
Week 3: Spend $70 for 3000 points

May be doable.

I got the same offer. I've previously gotten points when I spent exactly $50 on these offers but I haven't seen those particular terms and conditions before. Usually I take up 4 week offer and not 3 week offers.
