Flounge Dfw

When did they opened flounge for first, both platinum types, just curious.

I'm thinking of all you that enjoy your champers. Upon entry I was greeted by male with a smile asking if I wanted champagne, he looked surprised when I said no. Now one of the female servers brought me a glass, which i declined. Maybe I should have one & stumble elegantly onto the plane & get some sleep or hip ups.

I was not aware of a "First" lounge at DFW.

AFAIK, aside from the various DFW A/C's, there is only the evening (from 6pm) general lounge in the terminal D "lounge complex".

There's an Amex Centurion Lounge that I recently enjoyed a few times (Amex Plat charge got me in free). Good food, average champagne (unless you are a Centurion, then you get Moet if I recall correctly).

Apart from that, the usual AA lounges were the same, however I didn't check out the BA/CX type lounges.

I'm also puzzled!

I just asked the staff, when 380 started flying into Dfw. It's the area on other side of area that has always been used. Seems to have same food options as in the business lounge. Closes @ 7:30, very empty with boarding n 40 minutes.

Seems food options similar to other lounge, 3 hot food options, soup, various salads, etc. not busy with 40 minutes to boarding. Thankful not windy like last night, 2 runways being used @ Dfw, lots of delays.

It's a very flexible area that with quite a few smaller lounge section that can be joined or separated as required.

In my prior visits the lounges was accessed to the left of the entry podium down past the showers. In relation to that where is this separate section (what does 'other side' mean)?

Serfty, when you exit lift, floor 5, the counter before the lounges, then past counter to right, first area is business & been there for some time, walk past that lounge, you get to first. 2nd door right of counter. It seems to b frosted glass wooden doors on wall near window with runway view separating the lounge & first. I am hopeless with directions, this is why I use GPS.

Tried to post pic, no surprise, came out side on. Just saw room called library.

Thanks - so you no longer walk past the showers. I guess they use a different group of 'loungettes' from the earlier days ...

That be them - three doors IIRC and you get your towel/toiletries from the staff at the counter. (FWI, the D A/C showers are 1) Nicer and 2) have less (no!) waiting.)

Thank you - it all makes sense now ...

Seems that Qantas have decided on a decent [-]enhancement[/-] improvement for the DFW service. (Unlike [-]US[/-] AA who are now closing the ORD F/L on Saturdays .)

I didn't know that, glad I made it on my trip then. Can't but think of staff who worked there. Although I did wonder what the ladies on desk did majority of time. The ladies serving the food always seemed to stay busy.

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware of that. My next flight there is on a Sunday. Not a glamorous F lounge by any standard, but at least they have food and the staff is always nice.

It also closes earlier than before (used to be until 11:00 PM at least):

How many domestic F lounges in ORD? The F lounge I visited in 2007 was one of the best AA lounges I visited in the USA. I know my sample size is not huge but it is adequate.

All AA lounges at ORD are both domestic and international (no separate terminals). There is a single Flagship lounge (near gate K19).

The seats are very old and would need to be replaced. There is no real view of the tarmac. The food offering is mostly cheddar cheese and cookies, but they have a hot meal.

My personal ranking of Flagship lounges in the US would be JFK>LAX>ORD

BTW, if appears they rethought Saturday closing or there was a mistake on the web site as the ORD F/L is now showing a 7 day operation although still with an earlier close.
