Hi all,

I havent had any luck through Admin so I thought someone here could help...

I had my username changed a few month ago, and I can no longer log into Flighttracker.

I can access my flighttracker profile page and see past flights, but it appears as if I am not logged in. When I click login, it takes me to the AFF main page. They I go back to flighttracker and it tells me to login again.

Im going in circles and it is annoying me.

Can anyone help?

The Leadership team is reviewing this issue ...

While you are talking to them - can you ask them to fix their buggy lookup lists so that Virgin Australia appears as VA flights and not DJ flights or V Australia Airlines? Their aircraft type lookup lists are a total shambles as well.

That is unfortunately out of anyones control, as anyone can add a new type when adding a flight, which then becomes available to all. I'm sure we all have differing opinions on how we want to label a particular type. For example, 77W vs 773 vs 777-300ER vs Boeing 777-300ER... and many combinations in between.

As for the VA vs DJ problem, I'm sure that is because if you want to add historical flights you get caught in a problem where the name or airline code would be incorrect. Blame Virgin Australia for that one! :p

Did you contact me? I don't recall receiving any PM/email from you about this problem. Please send me a PM which includes your old username and I will correct this problem. Thanks

Yes fine - I understand that its not you guys who make these calls, but I hope you are not paying much money for their service. I understand being able to add airports, but if their lookup lists were operating correctly or with any sort of logic then people wouldn't need to add new aircraft types. Its not like new types of aircraft are rolling of the production line every day.

Sorry - should have been more specific in this complaint. If you go to a detailed flight entry and type in Virgin you get the following choice "Virgin Atlantic VS" or "Virgin America VX" or "Virgin Australia DJ" - there is also something called "V Australia Airlines VA". I don't know why there isn't a lookup list for IATA airline codes, this stuff isn't rocket science - people have been building databases for decades - its as obvious as the proverbial nose on the face. Just a suggestion when you are dealing with them.

True. I believe as it's open source there is no fee to use it.
