Hi,

We have booked a trip in the US, flying Qantas across the Pacific and then AA for internal trips.

(Going MEL-LAX-JFK-DCA-DFW-LAS-LAX-SYD-MEL)

A travel agent has done this for us, and issued us with an itinerary showing all the flights as confirmed, complete with flight numbers etc.

But when I punch the PNR provided into Qantas it only brings up some of the flights. Specifically, there is nothing for JFK-DCA, DCA-DFW, DFW-LAS.

Why would this be if they were all part of the same booking? Our flights do exist right? And how can I access these flights to put in special requests, attach frequent flyer numbers?

American seems not to recognise the PNR at all on their website BTW.

Thanks so much for any advice you can give

Find out what booking system the Agent uses.

In any case AA employ Sabre while Qantas enploy Amadeus. There will be a different PNR showing your AA flights.

Call AA on oz on 07 3329-6060. Tell them your name, flights numbers, dates etc and they can look up your booking and provide you with their Sabre PNR.

You can then look your booking up using: AA.com - Find a Reservation (Enter your Sabre PNR in the "Record Locator" field.)

What most likely happened was the TA booked them on 2 separate PNR's, but manually combined both lots of flights on the one itinerary but forgot to paste across the AA PNR reference.

If they were both booked on the 1 PNR, the GDS should automatically print the AA PNR as well as the QF one.

Just call your TA and ask them for the AA reference

If the GDS used by the TA is not Amadeus, it is not uncommon for your booking on the Qantas site to just show the Qantas sectors and sectors immediately before or after a Qantas sector (i.e the flights that connect to a Qantas flight).

How does one go about getting the Amadeus-equivalent booking reference for a Sabre booking reference? I have several AA flights coming up and I want to put them in my QF profile but need an Amadeus reference to do so.

If it's not booked on an Amadeus reservation system (if you used AA.com to book, it wasn't) - there isn't an Amadeus reference for your flights.

This is where something like www.tripit.com comes in handy :)

If any of these flights are connecting with any Qantas flights then you may be able to call Qantas and get the agent to insert "Information Segments" into your booking.
