PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Hi guys, wonder of the likelihood of points upgrades for 2 pax to either PE or J from discount-Y on the following:

1. QF93 MEL-LAX Sep-16
2. QF94 LAX-MEL Sep-20

Highest status unfortunately is only PS QP.

Thanks in advance

Hi guys, only a few days until the trip now. Is anyone able to please check availability again? Expertflyer seat maps look like PE is basically full and J looks pretty tight as well. Much appreciated.

Thanks very much Amaroo. After reading the guide in the first post on the thread it looks like D0 and I0 mean no business and R0 means no PE on QF93, hence I should be preparing myself for 14 hours in Y?

Never say never. No doubt some upgrades will be in for J-F, PE-J....good luck. Please post back and update us on where you actual ended up.

Absolutely. Flying with SWMBO so likelihood of it coming through for 2 pax is surely slim.. but I will keep hoping and let you know.

Would someone be able to check the loads on QF127 SYD-HKG on the 17th Sept. hoping for a Y to J upgrade or at least to PE.

Thanks

Here are the numbers.
I'm thinking they're overselling PE as the seat map shows only six seats unallocated.

It's a bit far out for anything specifically meaningful - have you checked loadings using the 'Tip' in post one of this thread?

I am leaving tomorrow on QF 127 and i am looking for a upgrade to Business or PE. In manage my bookings i now have a second flight listed with Status: Wait listed, and upgrade class as Requested. Is there any chance that this will come thru?

Fairly light loads throughout, although it is encouraging that the upgrade sector is wait listed.
Good Luck :)

The second "watlisted" segment is quite normal - it means they are in the process of assessing upgrades.

As per the Princess's comment, the light loads indicate a reasonable likelihood of success.

Hi all,

I've been wait-listed for an upgrade from Y to J on QF790 SYD - ASP for this upcoming Wednesday 18/09/2013
Just wondering if someone would be so kind as to let me know what the loads are like for that flight?

As per post #1:
Business: 3 (at least)Coach: 6 (at least)
J/3 C/1 D/0 I/0 U/0Y/6 B/4 H/2 K/1 M/1 L/1 V/0 S/0 N/0 Q/0 O/0 G/0 X/2 E/0

Hmmm .. a busy flight with only 3 (of 12) seats in business left.

Have you a good Economy seat - I suspect that may be where you would be travelling?
