PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Put in for W>J upgrades. What's the likelihood they go though?

Still a way off, but both very empty in the lie-flats, at this point.

As kermatu said (without quoting) please provide full flight details especially origin and destination.

VA choose not to make Z class available to external GDS's, so it won't appear in that format on Expert Flyer.
Best way is to simply search for VA award bookings.
Ok thanks for that. That also suggests that Expert Flyer wont be able to send me an alert when a rewards seat becomes available?
At the moment I am just trying to get my head around the EF et all information and seeings how it will help me. At the moment its not a critical thing for me.

E/F do have a facility that will alert for awards on VA when they become available for DL sky miles.

I took the chance and booked the Sale fare in economy on QF6 on 1 June.
Fingers crossed I get the option to bid for an upgrade :)

So I got an email offering me a chance to bid to upgrade.
840 SGD is the lowest amount. What are the odds of that being successful?

Now this is the tricky part. I'm flying to SIN on a separate QR business ticket and have BA Silver status so I have 55kg allowance. My SIN - SYD flight is economy and I only get 30kg but with status is goes to 46kg. So I would need to pay 244AUD anyways for the extra luggage. So if I bid, and its successful then I get extra business class allowance and some of the cost is absorbed as I would have had to pay extra anyways.
But QR's website say they will check bags all the way through on OneWorld airlines even on separate tickets. But called QR and they said they can't guarantee it, its down to the airport. Assuming if they do check bag all the pay through there will be no extra cost? or do they check the allowance on QF?

Can I get loadings for VA36 DPS-SYD 29/5 please?

BCD shows J3 but I just spoke to Virgin and the lady reckons it is a full cabin. Maybe BCD is outdated?

Going OT here, apologies...

Can't comment on the value or otherwise of the upgrade.

But, why would you need 55kgs of luggage for one person? If you are worried, take the upgrade and stick to 46kg, if I'm reading it correctly.

Think the lost I've ever had was 32kg, and that included 6 bottles of wine.

Back on upgrade topic now, sorry.

Hi all,
Can somebody help with checking the loadings and probability of more business reward seats opening up on the VA1 SYD-LAX on Saturday June 3 2017?
I have a confirmed SYD-MEL-LAX in J with VA on that date, but the earlier arrival of VA1 (0605 vs 0900 on VA23) would allow me to book a morning rather than afternoon connecting flight from LAX.
Thanks for any assistance provided and apologies if there needs to be more information supplied.
Cheers
