PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: QF Upgrade Availaibility

Hi andy

thanks for your swift reply and apologies for the inadequate info provided. My waitlisted ticket is a krisflyer economy saver , hkg-sin. I suppose the chances of clearing is low and I should have a plan b then. Thanks again.

I find SQ generally releases extra seats about a week or 2 before the flight departs for this route so there's still a chance something might come up. However, I would suggest that there is a plan b for all waitlisted options. There's no guarantees at all.

Hi

Im flying 11/12 SYD-HNL AA7359, I bought M ticket

What are the chances to get upgrades prior check in the counter?

Thank you

These are AA codeshare flights operated by QF metal so you won't be able to do any upgrades using Qantas points as it must be both a QF marketed and operated flight.

AFAIK AA would have the same rules with AA marketed and operated flights if using AAdvantage points.

Well I'm not sure what is going on here. QF12 is leaving JFK in less than 6 hours with the following loadings J2 C2 D2 I0 W6 R6 T0 Y9 B9 H0 K9 M9 L9 G0 and my upgrade to both J and PE were declined?!
Maybe I'll have some luck at the gate...

Qf9 mel to dxb on 15th dec, Still showing j9 d9 i9 at t48 although number of blocked seats = 17, not holding out much hope of 3 seats but you never know

I would be very grateful if anyone could check QF2 loadings on December 19. Daughter booked in Y, hoping to upgrade to J. I have told her not to hold her breath.

Hi,

This is my first post on AFF! So thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out!

Just wondering what the loadings (and therefore chances of classic upgrade) were for QF1, Sydney - London Heathrow departing on 24th December 2015. I have applied for upgrade to business already, just wondering odds of success. Am hoping flying on Xmas Eve works in my favour!

Thanks
Simon

Wide open: 9s in every bucket down the line from F to L.

So in the end it was a total failure of QF to process my upgrade. I know that the rules for upgrade at the gate say that if a flight with the same flight number makes a stop, then the upgrade is only for the last portion of the flight. In this case QF12 is JFK-LAX-SYD, so only the LAX-SYD can receive an upgrade at the gate. After boarding, 7 seats remained free in PE and I confirmed with the CSS during the flight.

In the end it didn't matter too much as I had a nice chat in the galley with the CSS, some nice J wine and a pajama:p to celebrate my 2400 SC this year.

Thanks madrooster. Apologies- I meant CX135 HKG-MEL.

What does L mean against a fare code? 0?
