PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: International Upgrades - Improved Experience

evening everyone.
is anyone able to tell me what the chances are for an upgrade tonite from full Y to J or PE. have a friend on QF 10 . LHR - Sing - Melb leaving at 1030 tonite 20/1/1's . he is 10 SC short of Gold. hoping to give him good news.
have tried to look it up myself, and i haven't quite managed to work my way around the site..........

with the warning that I have only just signed up to expertflyer (because I need another time sink):

It says no business upgrade seats available. At least I think that's what U 0 means :)

Now to try to work out PE

with the same warning about me being a beginner:

Business is full except for one "blocked" seat

PE is full except for one blocked seat

and for what it's worth first has one empty seat and one blocked seat

OK, thanks Newk. and yes, U 0, usually means...............eeewww stuck down the back. thanks for the help. i can read it, i just can't get it up on the screen

there are a handful of vacant Y seats so if your friend is very lucky they might have an empty seat next to them

Usual disclaimers :)

Points upgrade request from Y to J for two pax submittted for QF9 MEL -> LHR 31st Jan. Anybody have a minute to check the seat maps and/or flight availability for me to see how my chances are looking?

My ExpertFlyer premium trial has expired and I can't use regular search anymore becasue it says i've searched too many times. I only fly international once every year or two so no point paying to use it again

Thanks!

Ah thanks! Looking even better than last time I checked. Is it normal for more fare classes to come open 1 week out? In this case, it's showing I5 when a couple weeks ago it was I0 and PE has a couple more showing such as R6 instead of R5, T5 over T3

It's all about management. A few weeks ago QF would have thought they could sell the remaining seats at a higher price - opening them back up indicates they didn't manage to do that.

Hi all
Can someone help out checking availability for a reward seat using Velocity points for SQ flights?
I'm unsure which fare bucket this is, and velocity call center are quite vague at the moment!

PER - SIN - NRT; 1st Nov 2013

SQ216 Dep PER 0205 (I know, OMG o'clock)
SQ12 Dep SIN 0920

Thanks for your help!

EDIT: reward seat in Economy

Hi There - this is my 1st Post so excuse me , ive got the training wheels on !

I am flying SYD-LAX QF 107 11.55 (Prem economy T) Thursday 31 Jan . I have requested an upgrade to business .

My question is what is the likeliness of the upgrade being successful.

Many Thanks :p

Loads are very, very light in J:

J9 C9 D9 I7 U1 W7 R7 T3 Z2 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 X7 E0

Assuming nothing drastic happens in the next few days, I'd say your upgrade is almost a sure thing.

I'm on QF129 SYD-PVG on the 13th. According to FlightStats, loads as follows:

J/9 C/9 D/9 I/6 U/1
Y/9 B/9 H/9 K/9 M/9 L/9 V/9 S/9 N/9 Q/0 O/0 G/0 X/4 E/0

I'm a WP but can't remember what type of Economy I'm in; I'm guessing O but I also paid $1,500 for the ticket when I know it was available for $1,200 a few days before I purchased it. What are my op-up chances like?
