PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Hi AFF.

Flying out of HKG to SYD on QF128 on the 29/12/19. Cash J fare, requested F upgrade. I had a look at BCD and it shows the following

F/A - 4
J/C/D/I - 9
U - 5

I have Bronze with QC. Just wanted to gauge peoples thoughts on my chances of F?

Thanks!
What's BCD?
Full data from Expert Flyer is F4 A4 J9 C9 D9 I9 W9 R9 T9 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 X9 E9
The upgrade fairy says your chances are good but double check whether you have actually requested the upgrade.

Thanks for the reply! I got BCD from the first post in this thread. Website - Flight Availability - BCD Travel

I've got my fingers crossed! Do they email/update the booking details on the Qantas App with successful upgrades. Im unlikely to receieve the upgrade text message while overseas.

The upgrade info says your flight is on 28 December.
In your previous post you asked for loads on 29 December.

Yes, I got my dates muddled, thanks for noticing and your help :)
No problem.
To answer your last question, they don't email but you can check the app and it will show the change.
I'd be checking from about T-27 so you can select a seat.

Looks real good if you’re looking for J

Thanks pjm much appreciated

I was hoping for F but doesn't look likely. Seems packed down the back..
The upgrade fairy says demand for the empty seats in both F and J is very heavy and it will come down to status.

Just wondered if someone would be able to check the loading on QF1 (SYD - LHR) on 18 Jan please? I'm WP with an upgrade request in from Y+ to J.
Thanks

While still a way to go, doesn't look too full:

An update from the upgrade fairy.
At this stage supply outstrips demand, so it should be a shoe-in.
Unlikely to change significantly at this time but even if it does, as a WP starting from Y+ you should be near the front of the queue so still no problem.

Thank you. Without taking anything for granted, that’s a very encouraging update from the upgrade fairy!

I know its a long way out, but now curious what's happening given Y pax are being kicked off the flight

Firstly, thank you for the quick reply :)

That does seem a bit strange and rather lightly loaded all round.
Possibly reducing weight to allow it to take a longer flight path to avoid Iranian and Iraqi airspace?

But then those seats wouldn't be for sale. If you sell them, you're not reducing weight ;) My understanding of the loadings shown here is what the airline is prepared to sell in each fare bucket, not how many empty seats are actually on the aircraft?

QF11 SYD-JFK January 30. I have booked PE cash fare and put in my points upgrade request to J immediately, which was about nine months ago. I am WP. Are upgrades usually available on the long leg to LAX? Thank you.
