PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

How are things looking for QF93 departing June 23 and either QF94 or QF96 departing July 2? Hoping for a Y->J upgrade

Thanks PJM and apologies for not including all information.

Interestingly, if my reading the above it correct J is showing that it's full, however looking there are still 7 seats free / blocked?

Seat maps aren’t that reliable unfortunately as not everyone selects a seat at time of booking (bizarre I know). The numbers show what qantas is prepared to sell and whilst not impossible it’s very unlikely they are holding any seats back just for upgrades.

I would expect 1 seat to free up with an upgrade to F if that seat remains unsold and perhaps some late cancellations so all hope is not lost but the numbers at this time aren’t looking very favourable. Good luck hopefully it works out for you

Please note that QF is offering up to 9 reward (X9) seats, so that suggests there is no pressure from Y on upgrades.

Apologies for the novice question.

Does Qantas inform me via text if UNsuccesful in my request to upgrade?

Or do they only inform successful applicants?

Thanks

I think there have been reports of notifications when unsuccessful - but it isn't certain or consistent.

Yes, I tend to receive an SMS letting me know that it hasn't been succesful. Usually receive it on the morning of the day of travel.

Assume that no notification = slumming it. However periodically checking of the MMB (manage my booking) is a good idea as well as you points balance.

Hi is it likely that I am the only passengef in F on this flight at this stage

Asiana (OZ) 221 JFK to ICN September 1 2019.

Thanks

Don't worry @I love to travel you wont be the only one in F on this flight

There are at least 3 passengers including you. You are currently seated in 2E, 2F or 2K. There are 6 other seats blocked which may or may not already have a passenger allocated (or expected to be allocated) to it.

Thanks but this is what I feared. Asiana have blocked F as it appears that they are discontinuing F from 1 September

That would not be the reason . Looking at all the OZ221 flights from 6 May 19: All 4 seats of Row 1 and the 2 others typically 2A seem to be blocked. This is typical because an airline tends to reserve its best seats for certain high status passengers or for its use on checkin.

On your flight 3 seats in F are vacant - presumably available for purchase

But Im not sure what you are worried about because OZ is only (as far as I know) removing F from their 747 and 777 fleet. F cabin remains on the A380, and OZ221 is usually an A380 service

Hi all,
could someone help with the loading of QF1 Sydney to London on 21 Jun please? I am a WP hoping to go from Y to J.
Since there is a stop over in Singapore, does this mean QF would prefer to sell individual segments rather than offering award upgrade for the entire trip?

TIA
