First time Jetstar user, any tips?

The first thing I thought about on Friday night sitting in 12G was this seat is uncomfortable. Hard as a rock. How am I going to get through 5 hours?

VA A330 PER-BNE. Awful seat for that length of flight. Quiche in paper box and drink for an 8:30pm flight. Not much food in lounge bafore flight. Think may have had some tortellini and as flight was delayed had some crisps. Luckily. They did come round a few times for water/juice.

We had no Qantas lounge open in Cairns so on board tried their disgusting food, so we drank on, before departing DPS also no lounge access as no JQ J on this sector ate in terminal, after the bum went to sleep in row 12 rock hard seat, nodded off, watched movie on my iPad, was nice to standup on arrival :).

Booked Jetstar for a flight to Adelaide on Saturday at least I have lounge so lunch and a free drinks before I board the flight.

9,600 points + $32 tax I thought was an ok price.

Like always, keep your expectation low and you will be surprised.

Slightly OT but look at how much better looking the 73 is compared to the A320. I know the engines on a 73 are low but that puts it in better perspective.

Not quite first time user but thinking of taking golf clubs BNE-NTL and have been searching JQ website to find answer.

Late afternoon airfare is $69 + $35 Plus Bundle + $25 oversize baggage fee + $69 airfare for wife + $5 seat selection + ~$2 credit card convenience fee + infant airfare free of charge = $205 one way and an extra $20 on return. The +++ adds up real quick.

All I can do is laugh and shake my head. Qantas was $101 outbound and Virgin was $99 outbound and inbound but held off booking and now they are $129 and $125 outbound and $163 and $204 inbound.

Hi, All.

This is probably not quite the intent of this thread, but I did take my first ever JQ flight on Wednesday. :)

I booked a bundled fare. How long is it likely to be before the flight posts on my QFF account?

A320 cabin width is larger than B737 and generated has slightly wider seats
http://www.airlinereporter.com/2010/11/who-has-wider-seats-airbus-a320-or-boeing-737/

I also think the sides of the A320 are straighter and higher which helps comfort too.

To me personally I find the biggest difference between Boeing and Airbus these days from a passenger perspective is the cabin fit and quality.

Whilst I like the concept of Boeing Sky Interior I don't like the fact you don't get the full 'experience' in the front part of the cabin due to the life rafts. And the overhead panels on the 737 are just flimsy and don't seem to age very well, and don't like the vent arrangement.

With the A320 the cabin fittings just seem so much stronger and better quality. This is one area Airbus seems to have improved in over the years. I recall my first ever A320 ride on Ansett in the early 90's and the canine creaked and rattled but don't notice that anymore. (Could be because these days I am rarely behind the wing).

Recently flew on a TG 787 and SQ A350 days apart and made the same cabin fitting observation in just made above. In fact the 787 seemed to me to be essentially a dual isle 737 cabin. Except the windows of course. Just looked cheap and nasty. Compared to the more solid and more classy A350 interior.

Give it a week.
My took bout 5 days to post, prior to when they cancelled my flight, and I made a promise never to fly them again.
Had 2 dom pax on an int JQ flight, and 1 purely dom JQ Au flight all up.
If your flight took off, and you were on it, give it a week before putting in a claim.

Is it possible to check-in at Qantas Business lounge is SYD T3 if travelling JQ with carry on only?

First time JQi flyer.. Flying the 787 MEL-DPS-BNE in Nov. I've figured out I'll get FLounge in MEL as WP, and coming home nothing as a third party lounge.

Theres zero references to any WP benefits flying JQ - can I checkin at the Business checkin even if flying Y?

Any other hot tips from someone who's done it before and survived...?

Unfortunately not (business class check-in). Status benefits only apply to lounge access.

Paid lounges are plentiful and cheap in DPS, some apparently better than others, but not expensive (like USD20 or something).

Only suggestion for on board would be to (a) keep a look out at exactly 14 days prior to departure for an upgrade offer... these sell out within minutes, so if you want to do it, act fast (also gets you access to the best seats) and (b) get bulkhead rows, even if you have to pay. The legroom looked fairly generous.

Eat well at the FL.

Set low expectations and they'll likely be exceeded.
Consider adding entertainment (it's a decent screen, and an ok selection).
But on board choices are ok and the service from the mostly Asian based crew is generally good

I tried to book an OOL-SYD flight for tonight and website crashed 3 times. Twice in Firefox and once in Chrome. The first crash caused my gift voucher balance to disappear so had to use another gift voucher. On subsequent crashes I removed the gift voucher and allowed me to use the gift voucher again.

So now have a gift voucher that cannot be used. Hopefully comes back in 24 hours.

After 3rd crash tried paying by credit card and booking was confirmed. Still no email confirmation.

How does this airline stay in business?

Because of devoted customers like you! :p
You mean desperate right?

The JQ flight cost $95.96 including Plus bundle. The VA flight was $128. The only reason I persevered was to use the gift vouchers which I couldn't use.

Would a complaint get anywhere?
