HI All

So I have booked my flights with me, my wife and my (Will be) 3 year daughter to Japan. Anyway I was looking at selecting our seats, and I was unsure of what is the best layout for a familly to travel.
Qantas have defaulted to all of us in the window, but I was wondering if we should all be in one row (1 against the window, 2 in the middle)
Here is the layout. The aircraft is the Airbus A330-300.

What are AFF peoples advice on how a family can best travel together in Business, Also just for context it is a Melb-Toyko and it is a day flight

Cheers

The middle seats aren't well designed for couples in that they're always split i.e. a table and partition between the seats.

If it were me, and the chart above shows what's available, I'd take 5A and 5E with the child in one of them so one parent and the child have access to each other across the aisle, and the other parent in 6A to have a secondary view from behind.

I would be tempted to have the child and parent 1 across the aisle from each other and parent 2 in front of parent 1. This would allow both parents to have a good view of their child.
eg 4A, 5A, 5E.

We have traveled on this route a few times since MissM was young. Just note that on the A330 the even number seats are not on the aisle, the odd numbers are. I am with what others say, we would normally have our daughter in 3A, MrsM -3E and I would most likely be in 4A. Exactly the same set up that @odysseus suggested.

I flew this recently. There is a split in the cabin between rows 3 and 4 which kinda sucked for us as it means my partner and I who were in 2A and 3A were split up from the rest of our family in the cabin behind.

so keep this in mind when grouping yourselves together
