Hi Everyone,

I'm planning a trip home from Europe and wondering if you have any advice or tips on booking flights back with either JAL or Finnair.
I have the following options and don't mind flying either JAL or Finnair, curious to see which airline you'd recommend and any previous experience with them.

These are the options, both have similar connection and flight times:

Paris to Tokyo: JAL Business Class 777-300
Tokyo to Sydney: JAL Business Class 787-9

or

Paris to Helsinki: Finnair Business Class E190
Helsinki to Tokyo: Finnair Business Class A350
Tokyo to Sydney: JAL Business Class 787-9

Options Options!!! What would you do....?
Thanks a lot!

If you can get decent 1 stop connections thru HND, JL is probably nicer (and you might find cheaper!). If you want to experiment, you can book JL metal Euro to Japan and AY back via HEL (or v.v) all on a JL ticket.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Just make sure your Tokyo is either both Narita or both Haneda, because cross-city transit is currently not permitted due to Covid entry restrictions.

I love Finnair and you get a chance to go to Helsinki! Unsure when you are flying but Finnair have just announced that the Hel to Tokyo flights are going over the North Pole. If the flight was a day flight that would be wonderful!

I would do the mixed option of Finnair and JAL and then you can compare. Finnair has a new business class product:

Ive found JAL are always consistently good.

If you have no OW status, JL will block the best seats (potentially all the window seats) until check in opens.
