FINALLY! - Citi launching Citi Prestige with Visa Infinite

- Transfer x2 (Japan worth around $500 for 2 trips)

I thought about this too. Are you really saving money, considering Japan is so well served by public transport you can get to where you are going for ~¥1000 by bus, ~¥1250 by regular train, or ~¥4000 by N'ex or Limousine bus?

The way I see it, I live around $100 away from the airport in Australia so I feel I get much better savings by using them on 2 x $100 trips from home to the airport, and pay for the transfers in Japan.

I'd rather use the limo service than lugging my 3 suit cases and wife and kids around the subway.

Depends on the time of arrival, it can be pretty crowded to on the train.

For Australia, from home to airport using Citi limo is around $120, however, I have a couple of drivers using Mercedes people mover only charging $60, so it hugely devalues the AU leg

That makes sense.

Is that $60 to MEL by any chance?

It is Sydney Northshore to international airport. There is something funny about this, a couple of years back my house sits about 1km outside of range for domestic terminal, and 3km outside of international terminal (e.g. 28km from intl terminal). So I always have to do something doggy about the citi booking, where I have to set the pick up location 1km away from house and always have to go to the domestic terminal. Return trip is even harder, as picking up from international airport means I have to book the car to drop me off in a different suburbe and tell the driver to keep driving. This changed last year, where I can just book and there are no difference between Intl / Dom and I always fall within range.

Now, how did I discover these drivers and got these rates? I used an app called "皇包车“, it's a Chinese travelling app help Chinese speaking traveller to book tour guide / cars / pickup / drop off in foreign countires. I had a couple of discount coupons and used it a few times. Got the contact of the drivers and they told me I can use them for that price. I have used this in Sydney / Fiji / Japan / US - San Francisco.

I don't frequent Melbourne enough, but last time It's $50 from airport to city on a BMW 3 series.

Interesting! Where did you get the coupons for 皇包车? Do you have a referral code?

Started off using referring between my 2 phones... And you can buy 50% off coupon back then on Taobao, which costs around $10 AUD. Overall works out a lot cheaper. Before then, I was paying $80 to $120 to airport depends on size of crew, now it's flat $60 new Merc Vito Van.

Thats very interesting indeed. May be we see some real enhancements in an alternative that they could introduce or nothing at all.

Looks like Citibank withdraw Prestige Card?

Can't see the Prestige card in the citi credit card list Citi Australia
and the page for the card is also gone Citi Australia

interesting....

Indeed, it does look like Citibank has withdrawn the Prestige card for new applications. The webpage for the card is now giving a 404 error - Citi Australia

The previous promo offer of 70,000 bonus Qantas sign-up points only added 8 days ago.

I had cause to speak to Citi Prestige Concierge yesterday and questioned withdrawal of Prestige - I was informed YES closed for new applics but existing cards continue without change and all benefits still applicable. For how long? Well who would know?

I'm pretty sure they cancelled it because it infringes on territory squarely for the newer Citi-backed Qantas Titanium credit card. There wasn't a great deal of difference otherwise between Prestige and Signature; whereas there is now a discernible gap between Signature and the Qantas Titanium which Citi are behind.

The link of the prestige card was removed from Citibank website a week or two ago. Had an online chat with CSR and confirmed the card will not be offered anymore. Some of the benefits will be removed/changed for next year. This is being reviewed by the bank.

Does this mean that if I wont' be using any of the benefit before the end of the year, I'll be better off cancelling the card now? But I have booked flights using this card, which means my travel insurance won't be valid anymore

Citi have withdrawn a bunch of products.

Will be interesting to see what changes are made if/when they come. My renewal was up this week and I did keep it with the 50% discount on the annual fee but its only borderline for me at that rate.

Normally I can start booking transfers and 1 night free hotel from mid November, I wonder if they will renew all of those benefits......

how do you do that?
just by asking now, initially it was offered on my calling to cancel. Online chat is useless need to ring. Have been on this deal now for 3 years. Others get it for free I think if having a certain level of investments held at Citi.

Got an email just now wanting to get feedback on the product, 45 min 1-1 interview in St Leonards in return for $400. It seems the product may not be dead just yet.
