Some know everything, some think they know everything......

Interestingly, I couldnt find the flights on webtrak when i looked earlier today

mel.webtrak-lochard.com

(unless it was the one marked C550??) from MEB to AVV? And then, only 1 a/c.

It would only work if they were using transponders.

That's it, saw a news flash on the 24 hours TV in our office reception on a new Globemaster arriving. Perhaps timed for a delivery into Avalon? :p

Been in the news that Govt has recently made the decision to purchase a further C-17, however delivery won't be for some time, dependent on when they can actually secure an aircraft from the production line.

Webtrak does not track military aircraft because its primary purpose is to track civil aircraft noise for noise complaints, no point complaining about an F18 or two . OT - During the Brisbane floods in Jan people complained about the noise of the blackhawks and EMQ birds, you have to wonder!

It would only work if they were using transponders.

All Military aircraft would be using transponders unless in formation, they dont go off in peacetime in Australian airspace unless the aircraft is part of a formation and its the formation leader who leaves theirs on or a P3 is going strategic under its own watch, if the formation breaks then its transponders on and callsign changes.

I would expect at least the C130 to be using a transponder.

I believe so, being the lead aircraft of the formation.
