Feet and shoes on Bulkhead?

What about those tall people with knees (particularly those wearing only shorts) that touch the in flight reading/seat pouch/seat in front? Or those that stretch out and lay down on 4 seats when the flight is empty? Or those that cross one leg across the others knees in business class and may have their besocked feet touching the seat. Or those that rest their bare arms on the armrests - if they want to have their arms on the arm rest they should be wearing a full length shirt. Or those that put their feet up in business class on foot rests but feet overhang the end and touch the bulkhead or back of the seat in front - how arrogant. :)

The high-horse jockeys at it again!

Just let people be!! She may have health issues, her legs or ankles may swell up when she flies so she may have been trying to prevent that for example. Everyone's so quick to judge. So what if she's 60+ and wears blue sneakers, comments like these just demonstrate a level of shallowness and elitism that is beyond comprehension.

If you're worried about bugs, don't touch anything, anywhere, ever again!

9 pages on a fairly trivial matter, lol what is AFF coming to?

That's quite the bizarre attitude you've got going on there. I don't think anyone who knows me would ever accuse me of being arrogant, nor am I so worried about what you think that I'd "desperately" try to deny anything!

Maybe it was your bizarre claim that putting your feet up on the wall of a plane was somehow breaking down class barriers, when the opposite is more likely. But someone should tell the aspirational cashed-up bogans that their new money antics will never be respected by the established elites. (How's that for drawing a long bow!)

I'm currently sitting on my couch at home with my feet up - I haven't asked a physio about that either, but I can assure you it's very comfortable (and I have the curtains closed, FYI, so the neighbours won't think I'm arrogant if they see me with my feet up!)

What you do in your own home is your business. What you do in public is everyone's.

That's not actually what I claimed, but if that's what you want to read into it, ok.

And unless what I do in public is affecting someone else, I fail to see how it's their business. Perhaps you could explain that in more detail.

yep, weis icecream bars still handed out on long-haul. Had a yummy coconut-lime one last weekend from SYD-BKK

This is of course the crux of the issue, people like Moody really do think it is their business what others do and everyone else should just fall in line with their opinion. Apart from his strong belief in his own opinion, there is actually nothing to support this notion, I have no doubt that people will continue to do things he doesn't like, he will continue to get upset and make disparaging comments but most people will ignore him.And that's life folks, some would suggest he needs to get over it but I suspect he never will.

Thanks Power71, nice to know they still give out ice cream on the QF 4 hour PER to MEL/SYD flight, love it!
One time, it was a small little container, like the sauce they give when you buy Asian take away food, rock hard!
Another time, it was stick ice cream, but I think the Weiss fruit ones are the best, have had them bought from the servo, yeair, they are the best.
I look forward to my little pressie when I fly QF PER to MEL later this year.
Paws crossed that QF still fly that route, Dec (pi** take).

People who wear dark glasses, when there is no need, ie, indoors, or on the bus, or on the plane, ... what the...?
Show off, I see it...
Yeah, I am so cool, wearing James Bond dark glasses 24 hours a day...!!!

There are laws which are enforceable and can result in prosecution, and then there are terms and conditions which are administered by corporations (though challengeable under law), and then there is societal standards and ettiquette that have no legal standing but which enable the decent citizens to get along .... and also make it easier to identify the ignorant and ignoble of society. I don't get upset about it - just call them out for what they are and move on.

Laws, and terms and conditions have nothing to do with it. The fact is, you think your opinion is more valid than anyone else's - there are several people who have said they think it's perfectly acceptable behaviour - and now you're stooping to insults (ignorant and ignoble, really?) rather than explaining just how someone putting their feet up on a surface you are neither going to eat off nor sit on affects you even slightly, and therefore how it's any of your business.

I'm guessing that's because as it patently isn't any of your business, and it's pretty hard to justify with anything approaching logic why you should be the ultimate arbiter of manners and etiquette, you've decided it's all too hard and are ignoring that all too salient point.

Sorry guys but this is an issue about how people present themselves in public. The French are an entire society that do present themselves with consideration of other people. So to not present yourself well does lack consideration of how others and how they view you. It also suggests a lack of self respect. Laws and terms and conditions do not come into my point, which is about social courtesy. But then in today's race to the bottom, approval of base behaviour, I'm sure I'll be attacked for this view. Go your hardest, nothing you say will invalidate my position.

Or they are hung over or have severe light sensitivitity or they've just had eye surgery or they just had that eye test involving drops that dilate the eye to the maximum possible.

BTW there were weis bars on QF127 the other day as well.

There may be medical reasons as well as, "I vant to be alone' reasons as well as coolishness.

I do that sometimes but don't be quick to judge, it's only because I don't have my other prescription glasses with so I wear what I have the dark prescription ones.

Obviously we've been to different parts of France - in Paris they're very well dressed and behaved on average I grant you, but when I was in Toulouse in January I saw more than an average amount of people dressed in tracksuit pants and behaving entirely inconsiderately on public transport.

Although nothing will invalidate your position of judging others based on their appearance, I'd prefer to "race to the bottom" by judging people on their more substantive behaviour - i.e. whether what they're doing actually has a negative impact on the people around them, and not just whether it's offending their sensibilities about how people should look.

And I can assure you that despite my propensity to put my feet (sans shoes) on bulkheads on longer flights, I have a great deal of self respect. In fact I'm more than secure enough to not care about people potentially judging me on very shallow grounds indeed!
