Feet and shoes on Bulkhead?

Feet clearly placed on a pocket containing items that a Pax would access using their hands would be worse IMO. Would you rub the soles of a strangers feet or shoes?
An unidentified photo taken in a public place posted on a public forum for discussion will not impact on anyone other than the person in the photo. Unless the subject of the photo is a member of the forum they cannot access the pic anyway IIRC.

I don't agree. I think a photo is a greater violation of common courtesy than feet on bulkheads.

And tell me, what about kids' feet? They stand on seat, armrests etc. Is that a problem too?

(and btw kids crawl on the floor where lots of feet are... so I'd suggest your argument that feet are the harbingers of microbial doom is probably inaccurate)

I'd be more concerned with smelly feet.

The germs that kill us are more likely to be in our own systems than on surfaces we come into contact with.

It isn't pleasant seeing people's feet like that but there are worse things they could do. And not gender specific.

I once had to climb onto the seat to get to the middle seat as a disabled passenger had been placed in the aisle seat. She was obese and couldn't make space. Nor move. Then I had to sit on the seat. Window lady had to do the same.
Having said that there's a woman at the gym who never washes her hands after the loo. I refuse to come near her. I'd be more concerned about that practice than feet. In sox.

If parents stopped their children climbing over public areas like it was play ground equipment and not a sitting position for other people then the kids might know better when they grow up. I was brought up to respect other peoples belongings. If i tried climbing over things i was put on my mothers lap.

Camera phones weren't around when i grew up so the situation didn't arise so I'm using my own moral compass here and I'm happy with the direction its pointing.

We will just go around in circles on this as we have differing opinions. When i don't reply to your response it just to break the cycle.

If you are determined to be offended by things in life it's not hard to be!

I found it foul. I wasn't offended. It was more of an observation that even in 1A on a Qantas A380 some people find it necessary to stick their bare feet up like that.

It's an interesting dilemma.
I will have to agree that taking a photo is worse, I see it as a cowardly act.
When someone sitting next to you in a plane is acting in an offensive way (in your opinion) you have 3 options:
A. Approach that person and ask him, nicely, to remove his feet from the bulkhead.
B. Ask the CSM or one of the FAs to talk to that person.
C. Do nothing, look away and mind your own business.
Once you chose option C, meaning you done NOTHING about it, you lost the right to criticise that person.
Snapping photos of people while they are not aware of that with the clear intention of mocking them later in social media sites instead of confronting the situation in real time is the definition of cowardness IMO.

Money doesn't buy class, people in F are no better then people in Y.

I choose option D which was to take a photo and use to create public discussion on whether its acceptable to put feet in places other than the floor. The is nothing illegal in taking a photo and us using it as along as it is not for commercial or sexual use. The photo in now way identifies the lady concerned and if i had not taken one then i could have easily found one on the net. Google feet on bulkhead for images.

Choice of option a or b would have made the women uncomfortable which served no purpose as she had broken no laws on this occasion.

Again, it doesn't matter about the sexual or not nature of a photo, and it doesn't matter if you can or not (because we all know of course you can) it's just creepy (this is still the right word to use I believe) to take a photo like this. You can talk about it without needing to take a photo. If your motive was more positive I probably wouldn't feel so disappointed by the photo but it comes across as if you took the photo to complain about someone online.

It's also potentially identifying given that information provided in the text and photo. I say potentially because it's probably not but that's no reason to take as a given that it won't be.

If Google is your morality compass then you may have a problem. There are plenty of gross images there, all legal.

If that woman would put her feet close to your face you would probably do something about it right? So, if you done nothing about the situation you were in on that flight, meaning it didn't bother you that much. Then why taking photos and mocking that person later?
How would you feel if someone secretly snapped a photo of your private parts in the toilet and later publish it on social media sites?
But that is just wrong!
Is it? I bet I can find similar photos on Google ;)

Sorry but what does that have to do with this discussion? That is not really a valid comparison.

Yes it is. You didn't read the whole post.
The OP said taking photos that don't identify people is ok because similar images can be found on Google. I gave a valid example why it's not always ok.

I did read the whole post and don't see the valid comparison in the context of the thread. In fact the post you referenced quoted legal images. Where I come from secretly snapping pictures as you have suggested is not legal and can lead to jail time.

i actually said it was ok to use the photo as it wasn't illegal to take one or use it.
The google reference was for wingspan who has told me three times now thats its creepy to take a pic like mine.

Good one, now it's really getting O/T :)
Try another meaning of the first 2 words. I tried to use "nice" words on the thread.
Back on topic, some may find secretly taking photos of their feet or other parts of their body without their knowledge very offensive. If that person was a guy and he would somehow catch you in the act, you could end up with a black eye, and for want? Better to avoid this kind of things. Look away and enjoy your flight.

Out of interest, who would be in the wrong legally? The photographer or the person assaulting the photographer?

Off course the person assaulting. You keep talking about the legality of the situation. What about some common sense? If I'm doing something that really bothers you, kindly ask me to stop. If it doesn't bother you that much, let it go. Don't take photos and later mock me on social media. It's not nice.
