Hi, does anyone have any idea if there will be more USA fares on sale this year? Looking to head over in September ( big cruisers, out of FLA ) but prices seem quite high compared to what I paid last year. Looking at premium economy:D or economy:shock:. Any insight would be greatley appreciated, thanks.

QF is being very tight with discounting this year to USA especially in Premium. Their Premium fares at the moment are double some airlines and more than the 50 day advance purchase business class sold by United and Delta.

I really spoke to a TA rep who told me that Qantas fills its planes no matter what it charges on the Pacific Route.

Their are plenty of alternatives:

VAUSTRALIA, Air NZ, Delta, United, Hawaiin Airlines, Japan Airlines.

Vaustralia and Air NZ have Premium on special for the next few days and this premium is cheaper than Qantas Economy on some days.

I have voted with my feet and am no longer blindly giving Qantas my loyalty.

Something to consider, assuming price is more important than time.

Jetstar to Hawaii, then AA or another LCC onward.

I don't believe that will be cheaper either, when you consider that United have specials of approx $1000 to mainland usa most of the year in non-school holiday periods. Its just too early to book those for September.

It's all in the timing, both booking and travelling.
