Wouldn't be cost cutting... moving from Row 4 to Row 1 doesn't cost anything if the seat is unsold. Probably an optics thing I guess.

JB (VA) used hop in the jump seat. I though I read that AJ would do that also on domestic hops?

He was sat in front of me in J on a SYD-ADL (IIRC) segment a few years ago, and I think even displaced my seat selection in the process, so mustn’t have been very consistent on that one!
