Mention of the CBR QP vs CL reminds me of last year while I was waiting in the QP for my flight. My organisation's National Security Manager was on the same flight and we were chatting away over a couple of ales when he discreetly drew my attention to the two close protection personnel standing a few metres apart against the wall between the entrance to the loos and the pc area.

At first there was nothing particularly unusual about them - except they had no hand luggage at all and never moved - but then I spotted the flesh coloured wire going from the back of their necks to their ears.

The QP was packed, what with a number of delayed and cancelled flights and I never did actually work out who they were with but I did wonder at the time why they werent next door.

Richard.

I was flying New York - Sydney in first. Was a little (read a lot) over 0.05 by the time I reached LAX. Once in the F lounge I saw Ryan Reynolds (two guys a girl and a pizza place, blade 3). Given the amount of alcohol I had consumed I decided to get him to sign the last page of my passport - then I admired him from afar given I didn’t want to look like a stalker. That didn’t really help though, as he was seated next to me on route to SYD in F.
We did have a little chat re his blackberry not working when he landed.
Luckily I had changed by mac's desktop before flying as I had a topless picture of him on it! That would have made things a little more awkward!

There are so many parts of this story that are just wrong

so true - and thats even without mentioning that we now have matching Pj's courtesy of Qantas and how i contemplated taking a pic of "us sleeping together" since he had his mask on!
oh well. I was good - and left him alone!

Where to start. From what I can remember:

* The 2005 Sydney Swans AFL team the day after winning the grand final,
* Greg Ritchie (Fat Cat) PER - SYD 2007
* Peter Cosgrove OOL - SYD 2007 (I even shook his hand)

more to come

I flew in F to Singapore last year with Alan Joyce and the Jeststar CFO. No laptop power all the way to London.

I must say that I find a photo of my pet puppy is quite sufficient for a desktop image. Less risky too. Come to think of it, maybe that's why I seem to end up sitting next to dogs rather than camera charismatic folk...some sort of reverse karma thingy...

Well I had the Minister for Foreign Affairs sitting behind me on the AF flight from HAN-BKK this week (J cabin of course). Hardly worth a mention, but the funny bit was we all hard to go searching for our jackets/hanging items (the minister included) at the end of the flight, as FA's were nowhere to be seen and they didn't hand them out before landing (I found mine after I opened looking in three cupboards  - it was only 1:50 flight, but oh how I missed the service you get on the "Q's" - QF and SQ).

Delta Goodrem flying LHR-SYD. I was in J, she must have been in F, but we were at the carousel first waiting for luggage, and I can tell you, even famous attractive people miss sleep, get jet lagged, and look cough after long flights!

I recently went Jet* to Melb from NC, and found my usual 2d (i think) isle seat I had checked into taken, the guy looked up at me and said my wife is in the isle opposite do you mind, I said no sure, and climbed over him to sit in the window, it was Greg Combet the pollie. Saw Simon O'Donnell the cricketer ( OOOOOOh Simie) at Brissy a few years ago, but my best brush was with Joe cougher a long long time ago, in the Southern Cross hotel lift with a HUGE Bodyguard, stoned off his face, I was about 15 at the time and stepped into the lift with my Dad, I whispered to him "Dad thats Joe cougher, you know - he came in thru the bathroom window" and my Dad looked him up and down horrified and said "How do YOU know MY Daughter", I died of embarrassment, the bodyguard laughed and Joe, he was too stoned to work it all out anyway lol, and I had some fast explaining to do with my Dad to relieve his stress at the thought of his 15 year old daughter with THAT MAN in her bathroom

I flew from BOS to Martha's Vineyard on Friday for the 4th of July weekend, and met my GF here. There was a guy on the plane, I recognised but could not put a name to.

Last night we went to dinner at a place called the Beach Plum in Menemsha, a little town on the island and this guy walked in with Maggie Gyllenhaal, It clicked he is her husband Peter Sarsgaard, also an actor.

So we had two for one.

Ooo, two of my fav screen people. I can't wait to see Maggie in Batman, a much wiser choice than Katie Holmes. And Sarsgaard is awesome in my opinion. Nice spot.

SYD/LAX I had Richard Branson sitting behind me. I was in 1K whilst he was in 3K. It must have pained him to be flying QF but until November comes along he does not have a lot of choice. And I think probably the only time I'll ever be sitting ahead of him...(you have to love duty travel!!)

He was escorted through passport control and then like the rest of the flight, had to wait 30 minutes for out luggage to arrive. The opulence of F comes tumbling to earth as soon as you get off the a/c.

I flew in J from ADL/PER last night with Dennis Commetti, the AFL commentator and had a chat whilst we were waiting to de-plane. He's much smaller on the TV, he's about 6'5" tall in the flesh.

22nd June in SYD F Lounge we (Wife n I) sat next to Hugh Jackman and his wife Deborah Lee Furness..

Ive sat next to Deborah Hutton in J from Melb to Sydney and had dinner together.. well we did make a joke of it..
I was in 1K to Aussie Home Loan John Sydmonds (1A) on a flight back from Bangkok.

Numerous other TV Celebs..
