Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Saw a few folks this morning heading up to BNE from SYD. Ed Kavalee was in the QF J lounge… Jeff Fenech onboard QF516 around row 6 in Y… but the prize was Alan Joyce, seated in 1F, ahead of me in 2F on that same flight.

Uneventful trip… but a bit late to depart and arrive. Not even AJs presence can prevent that it seems.

Cheers,
Matt.

You should have showed him this really interesting website called AFF....

Speaking of Alan’s, I sat next to Alan Jones on a recent VA flight. He was not very good with his digital etiquette meaning his phone was almost under my nose while he was texting non stop until after the phone service dropped out due to altitude.

If you are in his contacts beware his lack of privacy / awareness, lucky I don’t work for some media conpanies.

The federal Minister for Indigenous Affairs was on my SYD-CBR flight the other day.

I suppose "politician seen on flight to Canberra" is a bit of a non-event, though. 😂

Andrew Johns in the Air Vanuatu Y checkin queue at SYD currently. The barriers were incorrectly set up and the poor lady in charge's head nearly exploded rectifying it

On our cruise we met John Murray who was speaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly. Even though he was a staunch ALP man and 7 years older than I we got on very well. Surprisingly he knew virtually all of my political contacts and I knew a vast number of his. Our opinions on most were identical.

We had several interesting conversations. As speaker he was responsible for Parliamentary travel arrangements so had many discussions with airlines mainly QF. Towards the end of his term QF wanted to up the costs to the Parliament so he had talks with VA who would have decreased the cost marginally so QF backed down. It didn't match VA but the pollies preferred CL membership over saving NSW taxpayers money.

He really didn't like Geoff Dixon as not long afterwards he retired and his CL membership was cancelled on the day he retired.
He was also on the board of the Kokoda Track Board.

This morning on QF SYD-MEL Lisa Wilkinson was in the seat behind me (she in 2A, me in 1A), apparently unaccompanied
