Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Most of them (inc Joyce) were flying RAAF!

Could this be that RAAF? Photo taken around 1545 yesterday at CBR by yours truly!

Saw Hamish Macdonald and Susie Youssef on my 9pm A330 flight (QF498) from MEL to SYD last Friday after they have finished taping The Project on Channel 10.

I was originally in 23A and Hamish was in 23B but moved to the empty 23K (with 23J blocked) which allowed the two of them can seat together.

...and with their bags !!

You will be pleased to know that there will be a charge issued, so it wasn‘t a free trip.

“It will help the government to pay for the flight given the fact that there were so many business people from the Business Council of Australia and many industry leaders there.”

But Today show co-host Karl Stefanovic couldn’t help but press further.

“Do you think that is kind of ironic?” he quipped when Mr Albanese confirmed the trip.

Stefanovic also jokingly asked whether Mr Joyce’s bags had been lost.

“He was well looked after by the Royal Australian Air Force, who are very diligent,” Mr Albanese responded.

“There have been no lost bags on the Royal Australian Air Force ever.”

Mr. Alan Joyce literally just walked past the newsagents in CBR airport.

He seemed to be accompanied by a female colleague, who was walking a few steps ahead of him. Mr. Joyce was walking alongside another male, who seemed to be engaging Mr. Joyce in a deep conversation, but Mr. Joyce seemed withdrawn from that discussion.

VIPs checking if they’re on/not on the cover of the papers?
There was someone yesterday ... said that they were from SYD and were checking the pages of SMH to see if their photo was printed .. I didn't ask who it was, but realized that they were famous ... but they did do an extensive search in the papers ...

Might have been getting briefed on correct lifting procedures for his next shift on the tarmac photo opportunity?

You know they are not as important as they think they are if they will not actually buy the papers !!

Tony Abbott dropped a friend off at SYD T1 QF check-in counters on Monday night, who had at least 10 full size check-in bags (not an exaggeration) loaded onto two trolleys.

Abbott tried to wheel her into the F check-in area, which was closed & roped off, so when that failed he pushed the trolleys into the J check-in exit lane and bolted 😂 Security helped her wheel one of the trolleys back into the regular J queue... which was moving incredibly slowly with only a single QF rep checking people in but at least 3-4 hovering around the back being useless...

Saw a few folks this morning heading up to BNE from SYD. Ed Kavalee was in the QF J lounge… Jeff Fenech onboard QF516 around row 6 in Y… but the prize was Alan Joyce, seated in 1F, ahead of me in 2F on that same flight.

Uneventful trip… but a bit late to depart and arrive. Not even AJs presence can prevent that it seems.

Cheers,
Matt.
