Famous people seen (or even met) whilst flying or lounging

Auckland blues super rugby team were on an Air NZ flight from SYD - AKL yesterday. Didn't see much of them though they were stuck back in Y :p

John Schumann was in 4F on last Thursday night. Glad I agreed to the FA's request to let a platinum in Row 11 move into one of my 2 shadows. Apparently he has decided against going to Gallipoli on 25 April 2015.

Christopher Pyne in 1A on QF799 CNS-BNE today... he was heading back to ADL. He slept all the way!

Must have been [-]settling an investment property[/-] having a very important meeting with the whip.

Pearl Jam flying J from PER-SYD QF566 on 9th Feb. Eddie Vedder had a little tiff whilst awaiting to disembark; wasn't close enough to hear the conversation but this excited female pushed her way from economy into J and started talking to him. He became annoyed and a rather large man stepped in between. The price of being famous...

John Borghetti was on EY451 SYD-AUH dep 12/2. He was in F of course... I only saw him as we were waiting to disembark and I saw him from the front row of J...

Interesting.

Domestically all VA staff are expected to fly Y on staff travel, and also on positioning flights... unlike QF where J cabins are often full of uniformed staff (QF and JQ).

Perhaps this rule doesn't apply internationally?

As he is the one signing the pay cheques* I expect he can sit where he likes. :)

I assume that's because VA metal don't have an F cabin

Yes, of course... and with his salary he could afford revenue F for personal travel if he really wanted. But it is also a case of managing perception.

I think he has done a good job domestically. It is very symbolic for him to sit in Y on domestic flights, along with the rank and file staffers (and customers for that sense).
