What doesn't add up for me is the children have, amongst other things (I don't mean that facetiously) an endurance condition. Western Sydney to Brisbane, may be but a 6 odd hours flight to Bali? That's pushing the odds.

I have some sympathy for wheelchair use.

In Australia airports have turned their terminals into shopping malls. Adding hundreds of metres onto the journey between check-in and gate.

In the US the security and document check lines can be very long

Neither of those are the fault of the passenger.

On arrival, if they can walk, why be inconvenienced again waiting for the wheelchair to arrive, and be last off?

I got a wheelchair for my 86 year old mother outbound in both Australia and the US because of the above. If airports/governments want to create that environment they can provide a solution. And the passenger should be free to use that as they see fit.

The article explains AHRC terminated the case because no settlement between the parties could be reached. They're not a court, so can't impose/determine outcomes, or achieve a resolution between two parties beyond conciliation when both parties couldn't reach an agreement. It said they found the claims "reasonably arguable".

Bain and Virgin are separate companies.

The problem is that people who need it often find that the service is delayed or in MrsQS case, truncated, because of the demand from people who don't need it but want it.
