A good day was had by all despite JQ putting SAMIAM into 4 hour detention for flying LAN.

I thought on arrival to SYD I'd try the international transfer desk to see if they would print me off a new boarding pass.

They suggested that it could possibly be done if the Jetstar agents showed up (!) - however after waiting for 15 minutes, they suggested I should go landside and check in at the JQ119 counter.....Bzzzt....

I think I was compromised because I had luggage to be checked (and would have made the journey to the domestic terminal, tried the F check-in, etc if I didn't), so ended up sitting with all and sundry who were boarding Singapore airlines for the subcontinent.

The Pav was voted the dish of the day with Eggs bene coming second, and the jury is still out on the bubbly, requiring a return visit! Nice to catch nlagalle on arrival in MEL!

The Pav was definitely the winner, my arteries are still recovering from the buttered sirloin with chips and I agree that a return visit will be in order for some additional quaffing.

Thanks for the great day and the good company (markis10 & tallie) - a nice way to finish off a long day.

What a wonderful day it was, 4 lounges in just under 8 hours. And what better way to start than go from the QP in T2 to the FLounge in T1. Obtaining a boarding pass was quick and easy in the QP, and then with the help of Markis10 we quickly made our way over to T1 and would have been sitting in the lounge trying our first champagne. It was the Tattinger and this seemed so good, but I wasn’t convinced as I had to try some more. Following the Tattinger we sampled the Verve, oh and I had some non alcoholic drinks as well. Freshly squeezed OJ was just divine. Helped wash down the “Quinoa and Soya Toast with goat’s curd, avocado and smoked salmon’,” the juice not the Verve. Then we tried the Bollinger, very nice. At this time Samiam finally joined us after his time in the zoo. We all went back to the Tattinger. Pork Belly was served for lunch, never had deep fried pork belly, but it was nice. Then the Pavlova came out with the new dessert wine, a pink Muscat called Stella bella.

Ahh so I needed to fit Dessert in before my massage. I asked if it could be brought out in under15 mins and in a flash dessert was presented beautifully. 30 heavenly minutes of back massage in those beautiful spa rooms. The biggest massage table I have ever been on. So much so that I actually fit, for my 6’9” frame that is a rarity. Headed back out for a glass on Noble one as I didn’t rate the Stella Bella. A quick Turkey and coke and it was time to board.

The flight was uneventful and quick. Once in Melbourne I quickly got an exit row seat for the return flight (JQ) home and joined Markis10 in the DJ lounge. I was pleasantly surprised by the Corona’s in the fridge, but disappointed they didn’t stock spirits. After a quick drink, I bid my travelling companion farewell and headed off to the QP in Melbourne for another tasting, this time the Epicure wines. Geez they know how to pour a tasting glass. Very generous.

Back on the plane to Sydney, was an A321 and I had an exit row, very comfortable for the ride home.

Thanks for a fun day and was great to meet you Markis10, Samiam and Nlagalle.

This photo pretty much sold my wife on the idea of a visit to the FLounge

LOL well done awilcockson. I wonder which part of the diagram, errrr photo, sold it to her. Plus, she's probably a bit confused because you're batting for both teams now (VA and QF), 'cept she only hears you *itch and moan about the latter.

You could have a problem if she gets too used to these... "visits" ;) :p
