More importantly, it looks like you need the forward facing seats to look out the window easily - so that's my choice!

Not really - if you don't like the window right beside the seat, you have a choice of 2 others. :) You could also sit on the other side of your apartment and face forward during cruise. ;)

And no windows at all at the seat in forward facing Row 2!

This is 3K:

Looks like I am a bit late in this one (but I'll put my 2c in anyway :p )... I think the seat facing forward is preferable (on all modes of transport)... but of course a suite is better than any class no matter which way you are facing... (just like a seat on a train is better than standing)... and I agree that it's not an issue on a plane when it's cruising.. to me it's only a significant influence on take off and landing (and in that case you cannot sit on the other side..)..
Having said that... Bring on my suite experience I say.. don't care which airline, which direction or which destination!! :) :)

Ignore me, I didn't look at the seat map in depth

Yes I'll take any of those seats over any Y, W or even most J seats, that's for sure!

My wife disagrees. After this flight she has no issues travelling backwards, although she did before. I still can't go backwards.

OMG!, how did I miss this magnificent TR??

I only found it by accident whilst researching Lufthansa 747-8 as I want to fly in it somewhere. Anywhere, I don't care.

Thanks for posting boomy.
