so Amex has 1 year extension of manufacturers warranty

im looking at an oven from bunnings,
ive got a bunnings trade account from years ago that I still have

if I put the purchase on my bunnings account, and then pay it off with my credit card,

will this still count as extending the manufacturers warranty by one year?

Solution
I'm not sure if ovens are covered. Here is an extract from the AMEX Explorer Insurance T&Cs. I'm not sure what they mean by "to become part of a real property purchase".

suggest you get your facts straight before making general statements

if you know the facts so well, why do you say you are confused?

Pay for the goods with your credit card, and there is nothing for you to be confused about.

You will find that when it comes time to make a claim, they will refer to their terms and conditions only of there are any issues. They wont take any other information/conversation into account.

I dont know the facts so well, hence the original question, but when you come and make a blanket statement about how obvious and easy it is, and yet you still get it so wrong, is more than amusing

and no thats not how the real world works, in my example I did pay for the goods via my bunnings account, and no there is no t/cs that say "pay for the goods with your credit card and you will be covered" if they confirm soemthing it in writing , you have an argument that holds some strength, whether they entertain it or not is another thing,

I would much rather find out about it now, rather than regret it years down the track,

I called chubb insurance about this extended warranty a few months ago and got manager who had no idea , even asked for clarification, but then didnt get a reply,

anyway, ive just bought a fridge, extended warranty doesnt really matter since a fridge warrranty is 2-3 years and all my fridges have lasted well past warranty expiry,

but is a fridge considered part of (3)
