Absolutely.

The main problem at MEL however seems to be the location of the initial smartgate machines (the one where you scan the passport and answer questions). These are dotted down the main walkway and it appears people stop and use the first one they see... I've seen the line 5 or 10 people deep.

If you walk right to the end however, there's a bank of machines that are generally empty.

Exactly the same in SYD - about 5 machines along the main walkway leading up to the small duty free shopping area where loads of PAX line up - then a second bank of machines next to the main line up area, and finally the last bank of machines (best ones to use) right in front of the customs gates.

I've had troubles receiving them from the F desk as a WP... admittedly flying JQ though

Not meaning to divert this thread, but samh004, can you check in for a JQ flag get at the F desk if you are WP? I didn't think this was possible.

What are the chances of QF supplying an express path pass if late checking in due to transit issues between terminals, if I ask nicely?? Anyone been successful

Just for general info for everyone, last week when I transitted through SYD on QF (BNE-SYD-SCL) I had about 1:30 connection time. As I went to board the bus from the dom to the international terminals the ladythat scanned the boarding passes prior to getting on the shuttle bus was putting little purple square stickers on to some of the pax boarding passes (including mine). They were for those with a "tight" connection. When I got to the Int terminal the staff "fasttracked" me due to the sticker. (It was unnecessary that day as I still managed 20 minutes in the lounge)

So they clearly have a procedure in place for that.

and BTW, the little sticker was not actually "square", and neither was it "purple", that is just to frustrate those who would cheat and take their own

Nope. Have tried when travelling with a WP and been knocked back.
