Now selection is random and apparently by some machine. I would have thought it is better to target certain passengers based on tangible and intangible factors. Safety and security has one arm tied behind their back due to "risk of bias". Politically correctness once again running the show
Surely any proper procedures need both targeted AND random screening? Once you start only targeting specific characteristics, you create a weakness for people to exploit, hence random screening has a place alongside - but perhaps not in place of - targeted screening. [Putting aside the arguments whether screening is worthwhile or not].
