I guess Perth is the capital of CUB's but that is pretty horrific you were directly addressed as such.

The cashed up bogan who didn't belong in business class comment was said to me directly. The comment about belonging over with the masses was overheard as the person was walking away with a colleague.

Even if it was true (about being a CUB), that is absolutely disgraceful from someone in a customer facing role. Toll Dnata and MH are both responsible for the actions of this employee. I hope you get a satisfactory response.

That's really incredible... What a disgrace.

I can't believe anybody would say something like that to any passenger, let alone a premium one. Coming from a minimum wage, no education, contract ground staff member is just shocking.

I suspect the young lady who said it thought she was being funny. Although how on earth anyone thinks whoever they directed such a comment at wouldn't take offense baffles me. I have no idea how people's minds work sometimes.

Regardless of that incident, check-in at PER was straight forward (although there must have been a lot of high status Enrich members because although the J cabin was only half full, the business class check-in line was long...I ended up using the web check-in line which was empty as I'd done that the night before), and once on board the MH flight and service were good!

That's still no excuse

Hope someone at MH gets a hold of this. Absolutely disgraceful!

Interestingly, MH extends priority check-in and boarding all the way to oneworld Ruby.

Agreed this is disgraceful. If that had been said to me I suspect would have been dismissed before the plane took off. Do Toll or Dnata have a facebook or twitter account? Bad publicity usually gets a very swift response.

flew from Kl to Perth in J on 3 jan (reward tickets), J cabin was full, service ok, but seat would not recline at all, the staff tried to fix it without any luck

I'll probably write a more detailed trip report when I get home, but I flew PER-KUL(-KTM) a few weeks ago in J and it was good. I was on the 4pm flight, and as others have indicated, there is no amenity kit. Not a huge issue for me for a late afternoon flight. With the meal, I had ordered the VGML meal as I'm vegan, and honestly, it was probably the best VGML meal I've ever had on a flight. The cabin crew were attentive, but not in my face all the time (overzealous cabin crew annoy me).

Enjoyed the flight overall, and is in stark contrast to the subsequent KUL-KTM flight I had.

The biggest issue I had was with the Toll Dnata staff that MH contracts in Perth. Some highly offensive comments were made at the gate as I went to board through the business class line (I was dressed more casually than usual because I was going on a climbing trip and had to severely limit my clothing options). I have written a letter to MH about it, but not heard back yet. I don't know what will eventuate since it wasn't MH who were the problem, but Toll. Wait and see.

I didn't have any comments but felt like I was under-dressed for QF F MEL-LHR as only had 13kg luggage (limited by small flights and a tour) and limited choice of clothing (wore only pair of pants that weren't jeans and I had my Kathmandu polar fleece on during the flight). Wasn't a problem at all but it did make me feel like a bit of a fraud - totally worth it though!

I've done this both ways and at different times - the A330 is a huge improvement on the 777 though agree the seats are a firm to say the least
Suspect its difficult to beat from a value for money point of view - and MH have really lifted their game since joining OW
Food and drinks are good - living in KL I am a huge satay fan and MH is the best IMHO - compare it to SQ and see what I mean !!
Only downside is the attributing points to QFF (which I do just to keep my QFF Plat)

Don't be too hard on yourself....confident people can wear what they like.

If this is the same type they use to Mel I will be able to report back in a few weeks but I expect it to be their newer product

Ok as promised.

Seat too hard and nothing intimate at all. Reasonable space. Crew wanted full lights onto work which was rubbish, some of us needed sleep.....

Some crew very good. 5 star airline, not on your Nellie. Give me QF any day.

Good value? Possibly.

I was on KUL - MEL yesterday in J on the A330. The main thing I didn't like about the seat was that I couldn't get my legs out straight. My feet were always lower than my knees. After a few hours I don't like that. But it was pretty comfortable really - not as adjustable as a QF J seat which you can pretty much customise to your personal preference. The MH seat has 4 settings, so you choose one.

J was not full and there was nobody else in row 1 at all. The CSM came to say to me "thank you for being Oneworld emerald" which I thought was cute :)

Yes there was satay, with lots of peanut sauce and napkins but no cutlery. I hadn't had the MH satay before and TBH I think it is a bit overhyped on AFF. Yes it was nice but I wasn't blown away by it. And I would definitely have preferred a knife and fork to eat it with (probably could have asked for them now I think of it!)

There were 2 white wines (French or Australian) and ditto the reds. The champagne was Deutz NV. There was a spirits list too. Other than the champagne I wasn't offered a drink at all except for juice before landing, and I had to ask for each drink otherwise, alcoholic or not.

The IFE selection was reasonable, but not amazing. They collected the headphones about 45 mins before landing so that was that for the movie I was part way through.

My biggest gripe was that the seatbelt sign was turned on about halfway over WA (past what the crew called "the typhoon") and remained on until just before landing although for about the last 3 hours there were no bumps at all. So no tea or coffee with the snack before landing, even though I requested it. Also they leave the cabin music playing for a really long time, well past take off and turn it on again well before landing. Ok if you like what they're playing but annoying if you don't.

The one way fare in J was around $1,000 so a good bargain. Would I fly MH J long haul to Europe? Not sure. Not if I could get a better fare on CX/AY.

Look Anna I echo all of your comments. Not 5 star eh?

I'm about to fly business from SYD>KL then KL>Frankfurt for the first time & then back to SYD the same way.
Only just signed up to Enrich so am a basic member at this stage.

Hoping I can have a sleep/shower/eat at KL MH lounge upon arrival from Sydney before heading out to KL city for my meetings?

Also as per this website, Lounge access - oneworld means I can enter any one world lounge at Frankfurt airport when I am flying back to KL?

I don't think MH have an arrivals lounge in KUL. You might be out of luck there.

In FRA, you will probably be directed to the CX lounge but you should probably be able to access the JL lounge as well.

gaah, oh no, didn't check that bit.

Thought I was being very clever by arriving in KL at 3am and then making use of the lounge before heading out.
