"Executive Club" and "privilege club" access with rooms in Thailand - what do you get?

I'm looking for a place to stay for 3 nights in Bangkok in November on the way to the UAE to see Seat Son and have narrowed down to Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 or Novotel Bangkok Siam Square and maybe a couple of others in similar locations. Both these hotels are offering rooms that have club access included in the price - variously described as executive club or privilege club. The main benefits offered seem to be coughtails/evening snacks and sometimes afternoon tea. The room costs about $100 more for 2 people for 3 night, so if the drinks etc are free, that looks ike a very good investment for us - but I am not clear whether you have to pay for the drinks/snacks etc as the hotel web site for the club shows a menu, with prices attached. The excutive club seems to also include breakfast?

Newbie kind of question really - but most of my accor stays have been at the cheaper end of their hotels! I'm an ALL+ (formerly accor plus) member, currently Silver, but by the time of travel will be Gold. So as a member, I will get a free welcome drink and 50% off any dining at hotel venues.

So, can anyone advise about what you actually get with the "executive" or "privilege" clubs? Also open to suggestions of other hotels I should consider.

It's our first time in Bangkok.

I can't tell you about Bangkok, but for reference we just stayed in an Executive room at Accor's Swissotel Stamford in Singapore. It came with breakfast, nightly drinks and snacks. The snacks at drinks time were substantial and essentially dinner. It was a fair bit more than $100 extra a night but there was a lot of value to be had.

In general, club lounges in Asia and Au include breakfast (or an option to have full breakfast at the main restaurant, but not always) an afternoon tea service, and evening coughtails with canapés (of highly varying amounts).

They usually have inclusive alcohol service during the evening coughtail times.

There are many variations including more service times, alcohol all day, etc.

I generally wouldn’t find lounge worth paying for alone, esp with ALL hotels due to the half price breakfast with ALL Plus

Yeah me too - but their web site referred to ALL+ as well as Accor Plus… and they clearly meant the same thing….

Sofitel Sukhumvit is pretty decent and have stayed at several different hotels in Bangkok and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Muse Langsuan.

I was looking at this one for the return home which is via Singapore. I’ve been to Singapore twice before, but only for work so I did nothing touristy at all. Those stays were t the Ibis Clark Quay , so by comparison, this looks to be a very nice hotel. Is it genuinely walking distance to Marina Bay? Are there any other areas of Singapore that are good for short tourist stays? I’ve been a bit shocked at the cost of hotels in Singapore. Bangkok is much cheaper + the executive room up grade would be a total of $130 for the two of us for the full three nights, so sounds like a no brainer - less than $25 per person per night.

We upgraded to Executive Club at Copthorne Kings, Havelock Rd Singapore in 2019 and we paid $S70 for two, so your deal looks pretty good @Seat0B especially as drinks in Singapore can be $$

As you know, Singapore is damn hot and humid. Marina Bay is not far, but a 25 minute walk in that weather and you will arrive dripping. We walked around so much anyway, that taking a 1 or 2 stop train trip for minimal cost and less sweating didn't feel lazy.
The Stamford was excellent. I really like the fact it is above City Hall MRT so it is very easy to get around in all directions. I would stay there again over MBS just for that location (not that I could afford MBS anyway). We even caught the MRT there on arrival at Changi for $2 each, though the ride share back was only $25.

First I am not in the Accor program. But we did stay in the Fairmont Singapore on a 3 night Luxury Escapes package which included lounge access and a free buffet dinner 1 night.So just look up LE to see if any Singapore packages they can be great value.
As to the Stamford it is next to the fairmont so I can also say it is a very good position for tourists.
If you stay in that area consider lunch at Whitegrass which is very close and our favourite restaurant now.

Yes Singapore is a shocker for prices. The $130 deal though is in Bangkok.

It’s a simple walk to the MBS and you can do it almost entirely below ground/undercover, so it won’t leave you dripping.

You just go downstairs in the attached mall, head towards the station, and cross under to get to the esplanade theatres. From there pop up and take the waterfront path to the helix bridge (outside) and back in.

I walk almost everywhere from that area, it’s very convenient and has a bunch of MRT access
