Hi,
I did a platinum challenge a few years ago and am in the position to do it again now. My dilemma is my proposed routing is right on the limit and my travels on platinum challenge-eligible airlines will be nil for a few months after except for these flights.
Routing will be HKG-TYO(either HND or NRT), then NRT to SYD, all in J on JAL (not I class). At 1.5points per mile I need 6,667 miles to get me there. I can't find a way to get the AA or JAL website to quote me on these routes. From Qantas website I get:
HKG-HND 1,806, NRT-SYD 4,863 = 6,669
HKG-NRT 1,843, NRT-SYD 4,863 = 6,706
Is there any way I can check what mileage AA will allocate to these routes without going through the process of calling? Is mileage dictated by the operator or the frequent flyer program? Often bookings are hard enough over the phone let alone trying to get these details from an operator. Thanks.
