They are relaunching the rewards program ahead of TAS joining.
It appears that the main change is a reskining of the program (logos, card design, etc) and renaming the program back to the original name of Everyday Rewards.

"Offers" and "Promotions" will now be called "Boosts", which will allow up to 10 points per $.
Using earnt rewards $ will be an option at the checkout and can select how many to use (in multiples of $10).

This starts tomorrow (July 29).

There will be additional instore "activity" the following week (Aug 5-11), when TAS is meant to join. No details on that yet.

Geez, how much money have they spent now changing it back to the old name??? It was five years ago that they changed it from Everyday Rewards to Woolworths Rewards.

Back to the future indeed.

Based on recent partnerships with Bupa, etc, I'd say someone at Woolworths cottoned on that there is a good reason flybuys isn't "Coles Rewards" - it's extremely limiting.

Edit: and there's much dollars to be made outside of woolworths.

I guess removing the Woolworths name helps long term with plans to offload some of its divisions outside of the supermarkets. I guess when they finally sell BIGW off at some point in the future that will assist. Coalition partnerships. EG Fuel, Endeavour, BIGW would all pay to use the program in future once they are all spun off or sold.

Flybuys has been very successful as a coalition program for over 2 decades. I guess Woolworths is now positioning itself to get more partners (perhaps even some former Velocity partners?) and get a slice of the action.

How long until Dan Murphy's is added to the Everyday Rewards program? (Even if this means an end to My Dan's, that's not much of a loss...)

Why was Woolworths Rewards never used at Dans? It’s used at BIGW.

There's a video update (internal wow google account required to view) from Brad (CEO) and Hannah (head of rewards). Most of it is just fluff about the rebrand and updates about the staff discount aspect.

New news, for customers, between Aug 5 and 11, a new offer from all rewards partners (WOW Supermarkets, Metro, Big W, BWS, Caltex, Marley Spoon, Bupa), a different one each day.
Scanning card during that period puts you in a draw for 1 million points (eg, 500,000 QF points).

Brad mentioned the other group programs (My Dan's and Countdown One), but didn't go into anything else (basically just saying that yes, these other rewards programs exist).

I would expect that something is done around My Dan's at some point. Given that BWS uses Everyday Rewards and both BWS and Dan's are in Endeavour Group. If Endeavour gets final approval to be spun off, they likely wouldn't want to use a different program in both chains.

There will likely be an update about what's happening with TAS either tomorrow or on Monday. They normally don't send out comms on Fri-Sun.

I received the email this morning. Full Circle!

The app now has a 'Boost' button instead of an 'Activate' button against offers, I mean Boosters - and I haven't updated the app yet. That's happening as I write this.

This is hilarious. Back to the original name but not acknowledging the fact. Given that they now have partners beyond the Woolworths group it probably makes sense to change the name but it's poor marketing to use an old name and not coming up with something new and unique.

Thanks for the heads up @Himeno

Dans primarily competes on price, and perhaps they see little reason to be giving away points.

They do and they're often cheaper, but the relentless push by First Choice and more recently Liquorland offering very decent FB points on top of more competitive pricing (on certain items) they would lose market share. On 2 FB accounts, I received this week spend $30 for 2k points.

Granted Dan's does accept Wish cards giving instant 5% discount.

The new logo and loss of any Woolworths identifier is interesting

The Boost button is weird. If the offer/promotion is called a "boost", then I should be "activating" the boost, with an "Activate" button. Instead, I'm "boosting" a "boost".

Nothing much different on the website, apart from the branding. I didn’t get an email, but then I haven’t seen anything from them lately.

cheers skip.

I think you are onto something....does this confirmation message make grammatical sense? Maybe

Also noticed that the confirmation URL is playing catch-up https://my.woolworthsrewards.com.au/offers/#, oh dear.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

I’m sure I activated a boost for expensive Olive Oil but when I bought it a couple of days later, no boost. Bit wary of this now, looks like another WoW rewards shemozzle.

From their FAQs
Do all boosters (offers) work the same way?
There are lots of variances, such as whether it needs to be boosted or whether it's available in-store or online. Make sure you read the details carefully, as well as the boosters Terms and Conditions. They'll specify everything you need to know.

I don’t think I’m going to read the product offer T&Cs every time I buy a product.

cheers skip
