Hi,

I have flights booked from Manchester to Melbourne and I have just seen the option to bid for an upgrade from Y to J with my flight departing 1st Jan 2019. The flights were very cheap sale fares.

The costs look extremely high with the minimum amounts being $1,060 and $1,880. Both of these minimum amounts appear to be very expensive and would amount to the same amount as buying a J class ticket when paying for all 4 segments.

Has anyone had success in upgrade bids and how much did you pay? Is it cheaper to wait until the airport? Any other advice or can anyone point me to a thread with Etihad upgrade costs as I can't seem to find one?

thanks
