Etihad Delays/Cancellations

With the thunderstorms around MEL on the early evening of Wednesday 15 January 2020 and single runway operations, EY460 (B773ER A6-ETQ) from AUH is arriving at 1858 hours, 43 minutes late, a lesser delay than for many other flights.
 
EY460, the scheduled Wednesday 10 June 2020 arrival in MEL mid evening at 2015 hours (ex AUH) should arrive at 2129, 74 late. This flight appears to be operating four times per week and today has B789 A6-BLD. It was meant to push back at 0100 hours but took off at 0247 in the small hours of the Middle East.

This flight (and QR904) are the only two scheduled international passenger arrivals at MEL on 10 June during coronavirus. Just how many MEL used to have is something I never bothered recording but certainly it was more than 40 when one considers SQ operated four flights daily and a fifth on three days per week, QFi had arrivals from LAX, SFO, HKG, LHR, SIN and NRT plus multiple TransTasman flights, BI was daily, PR usually six times a week or daily, 5J three times a week, OD made appearances, UA and UL were daily, NZ had multiple TransTasman trips, FJ sometimes visited, EK has at least three daily flights, QR had one or two dailies, CX had at least three daily offerings, JL visited daily, TR has from memory about 10 flights a week, QR up to two daily and EY at least one daily, JQ had numerous but varied Asian flights, MH a couple every day...the list went on as that summary is not exhaustive.

MEL, like all Oz airports is a shadow of its former self thanks to coronavirus.

EY463, the mid evening 2135 hours from MEL back to AUH is likely to depart at around 2300 late tonight.

EY463, the scheduled 2135 hours MEL - AUH mid evening on Thursday 23 July has been altered to depart at 2300 hours. As inbound, international flights to MEL are not allowed to convey revenue passengers, few airlines are operating from overseas into the Victorian capital.

Monday 4 July 2022 sees EY455 (B773 A6-ETQ, the 2020 hours SYD up to AUH) taking off at 2159 so Tuesday 5 arrival is estimated as 45 minutes late at 2145 hours.
 
The next day, Tuesday 5, sees EY455 (B773 A6-ETP) still taxiing as at 2146 hours as it had arrived as EY455 65 minutes late at 1855 esarlier this evening.

Yesterday's reached AUH only 25 minutes late at 0525 this morning, so tonight's may be similar.

It's impossible to monitor every flight but from a very limited observed sample, delays to EY flights in and out of Oz are rare.

On Friday 22 July 2022, EY451 (1515 hours mid afternoon SYD up to AUH) has B773 A6-ETI but did not become airborne until 1732, a shade under two hours late, so expected Saturday 23 arrival at gate is around the 0100 hours mark, 64 minutes behind schedule. The previous three EY451 flights (bearing in mind this is a thrice weekly) have respectively been 53, 32 and 29 minutes early arriving in the Middle East at gate.
 
B773 A6-ETP on Thursday 11 August's EY450 (1020 hours AUH down to SYD) took off at 1227 hours. On Friday 12, estimated arrival has become 0747 hours, 92 minutes behind schedule.

Fortunately, the return flight EY451 doesn't have a scheduled pushback until 1515 mid afternoon so it should be on time.
 
Friday 16 September has seen EY451 (B773 A6-ETI, the 1515 hours mid afternoon SYD-AUH) airborne at 1649 for estimated at gate arrival on Saturday 17 at 0101 hours, 66 minutes late.
 
There are quite a few aircraft lined up at 2251 AEDT endeavouring to depart SYD.

EY455 (the 2130 hours SYD-AUH) is in the mix, operated by B773ER A6-ETI. I assume it has an exemption to become airborne after 2300 hours given today's storms.
 
EY451 (18 December, the 1550 hours SYD-AUH airborne at 1637 with B773ER A6-ETJ) should arrive 45 late at 0010 hours on Monday 19 December 2022.
 
On Wednesday 28 December 2022, EY451 (B773ER A7_ETI, the 1550 hours afternoon SYD-AUH) was not airborne until 1713 hours, so predicted Middle East arrival becomes 0012 hours on Thursday 29, 47 minutes tardy.
